SO I fractured my femur.. 🤦‍♀️🦿

STORYTIME- Unfortunately, I fell 2 days ago. I landed on my stump and fractured my femur bone. The Doctor said not only are there micro fractures there's bigger issues with my femur bone and it's a good thing we caught it. The X-rays show I have either osteomyelitis (severe infection needing IV therapy for approximately 6-8 weeks) or necrosis of my femur where a portion has died, again. I have an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon in a couple of days.They will do more tests to find out exactly which condition I have, then we will discuss treatment. It's looking like another surgery is in my near future.

Oddly it's a blessing that I fell because I wouldn't have known that the femur has a major infection or necrosis. (Testing will show which this week.) On the bright side, during the surgery the doctors will be able to remove the nerve tumors (neuromas) when they cut off more of my femur bone. Life is a funny thing. Even in situations like this we can find something positive if we look for it. ❤️🦿💪 That said, I am so sad because I have been walking so well and that is now on pause. If I have surgery which is likely, I will have to start again with a whole new socket made. This breaks my heart truly. But I WILL be okay!

Happy Friday Everyone!!! ❤️

Today I spent the afternoon at physical therapy and working with my Prosthetist! We have fine tuned my newest prosthetic leg socket and it's working beautifully!

We took video of everything! I will begin editing the footage this weekend so stay tuned! New video coming out next week!

Have I ever told you how obsessed I am with flowers? There's SO much beauty to enjoy in life and flowers are something that if I could, I would fill my home with them and live in a garden!

Lately the struggle with pain has been extremely difficult. My husband gave me these beautiful flowers and it's made ALL the difference.

When you are struggling with something hard, balance that difficulty with something good and I can guarantee that even though the hard is still there, your ability to navigate the pain or hard situation will increase!
