Late last year, I reflected on finding a new way to capture and create a unique art piece and collection inspired by Chicago—my favorite city and home in the U.S.—through my photography. Two images came to mind. The first was a photo I took of The Bean (Cloud Gate) during COVID, a time of uncertainty, tension, and fear, represented by the red tones I chose in Bean images 2 and 3. The second image captured the effects of Canada’s wildfires in the summer of 2023.

To me, these images convey a message of hope during times of uncertainty and adversity. The blues symbolize hope, peace, and serenity amid chaos. More to come.
