Hope y'all are all staying warm and safe during this winter storm! Freezing rain is no joke. We lost power for about 5 hours yesterday but it's been back since.

Fortunately I was prepared for outages thanks to the power stations and solar setups I have, which felt reassuring. I was able to cook food on my electric stovetop, keep our fridge and wifi running, and plug in some electric blankets to help us stay warm.

One thought I had: a decent-sized power station plus an electric blanket could literally be lifesaving in an extreme situation. A space heater, even a small one, can drain a power station in an hour or two. An electric blanket could last many hours.

Thanks to everyone who put up with some insane technical difficulties to join me on my livestream today 😂. Had a blast even though I somehow completely disabled chat lol. In the end the Starlink cut out on me, but hey we made it like 45 minutes in 95+ degree heat so I'll call it a win!

UPDATE: I’m aware of the Starlink outage, and I am still going to try to make the livestream work. (Talk about bad timing…) I don’t know how I’ll do it if Starlink is still down when I plan to go live. But I’m still gonna try! I have very spotty service at my campsite, so this will probably be the only update I’m able to post here. Wish me luck lol, and I hope to see y’all tomorrow afternoon on the livestream!
