I've been thinking about this moment that Jordan Peterson had on Piers Morgan back in 2022 where he was talking about the struggles of young men and tearing up over it. When this happened at the time, I was one of the people making fun of Peterson for doing that. I have to admit that I'm not exactly proud of how I responded to it by mocking him in the past. In fact, nowadays I actually respect him in this clip for standing up for men like this and showing empathy for them.
There really is an issue with men not having their issues addressed. Society doesn't really give them answers on how to fix their issues and just tells them to suck it up or that they just need to "be better" or that there's something wrong with them being a man. The issue with this line of thinking is that it doesn't offer any real solutions to these men's issues. It's even worse when people blame men for all the issues in society and engage in "all men bad" rhetoric. It just pushes them even further away from opening up about their struggles and improving their lives. That isn't to say that there aren't awful men out there because they absolutely exist. It's just that the messaging from society to men has been dogshit and not every man should be blamed for the wrongdoings of some men. They need an environment and a support system where they can open up more to improve their lives. It hits pretty deep for me as a man who has struggled with depression and anxiety in the past. And as someone who has struggled with those things, I want all men out there to be able to talk to somebody about what they're going through and have role models they can look up to for having a better life.
Does this mean I agree with everything Peterson says? No. I disagree with a lot of his politics, but I respect some of his older psychology stuff from before he started sounding more unhinged. This part of the Piers Morgan interview he did is honestly a good moment from him as well.
It's been 2 years since October 7th already. Since it's been 2 years since that atrocity happened, I just want to say that my condolences go out to everyone who was impacted by that horrific event. Over 1k people were slaughtered by Hamas that day in Israel and no one deserves that. I don't care which side you sympathize with more, that is unacceptable and the fact that there are some people who defend it is fucking disgusting. *Cough Frogan*. Anyway, it's important to remember that you can support both the Israelis and Palestinians having peace and security at the same time. It shouldn't be exclusive to either country. And I don't want to hear any of you in my comment section do the stupid Hitler comparison because I already understand that Netanyahu is a piece of shit. That doesn't mean every Israeli citizen is bad, so stop acting like they're all bad based on misleading polling data. And on top of that, the idiots who do that compare everything to Hitler and call everyone they disagree with a fascist, so it's not like their opinion has value to me anyway.
But yeah, rest in piece to all the victims of October 7th as well as the Palestinian victims of this war.
It's cool that Netflix She-Ra still remains popular after over 5 years of it ending and that people like Danny Motta with over a million subs are reacting to it. Helps get more people interested in the show and I love that because it's such a great show.
Citizen Soldier is a band that I've been listening to a lot lately. Their music is beautiful and I love the messaging about mental health in their songs. They also have an alt-rock and post-grunge sound to them and it sounds amazing. Give them a listen if you haven't already. Here's one song I love from them. Other songs I recommend are If I Surrender, Would Anyone Care, Let it Burn, and Always December. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edfhz...
