Hello friends! I’m so excited about The Salt & Light Reader’s Society Book Club ✝️📖

We’ve had such an influx of new members recently, and many of you have been asking similar questions so I wanted to put everything in one easy-to-find place! 🤍

I’ll be honest, I originally expected maybe 20 people to join, and now we have nearly 200 readers planning to read The Lord of the Rings together, which is such a blessing! But because of that, I’m struggling a bit to keep up with individual questions, so this FAQ should help answer most of them. 👍

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about reading journals as I’ve been setting up mine for this year🤍📚

Purely out of curiosity - for those of you that keep a reading journal - when you buy one, what actually makes it worth it for you? 🤨

Do you prefer:

- more guided prompts or lots of open space
- stat tracking pages (ratings, genres, TBR, quotes) or more room to ramble?
- aesthetic spreads or simple layouts you can decorate yourself?

And on the flip side - is there anything you wish reading journals had less of?

I’d love to hear what you’ve loved, what you’ve skipped, or what you’ve never been able to find 👀

I’m finding I typically dislike the questions most reading journals ask in the book review section. I wish they simply had a section for “my thoughts” and “favorite quotes” 🤣

2025 surprised me in the best way! 🥹

I’m so incredibly grateful for YouTube and for this community the Lord has built. When I started my channel, I truly wasn’t expecting much traction at all. I just knew God had placed the message of clean, Christian books on my heart. It isn’t the most popular message in the bookish world, but it was one I felt called to share.

What’s happened since has been such a gift. I’ve met the most wonderful, kind, & faith-filled people! Some of whom I’ve received the privilege to communicate with daily.❤️

The growth of this channel has become a testament that people are craving Jesus in every area of life, even in the smaller things like what we read. Watching this little channel blossom has been one of the biggest surprises of my life, and I’m so thankful for every single one of you who has subscribed, commented, encouraged, and prayed alongside me. 🤍

When we hit 5K (I can’t believe I’m even typing those words), I have the most exciting giveaway planned as a thank you to all of you!! 🤭 I can’t wait to celebrate together 🎉

1.) Merry (early) Christmas! 🎄✝️☺️

My prayer for each of you is that this holiday feels gentle, meaningful, and full of hope. Christmas reminds us of something so profound and beautiful: that Jesus stepped down into humanity as a tiny, vulnerable baby, fully God and fully man, to walk among us and ultimately redeem us. The King of Kings chose humility, closeness, and love… and that truth never gets old. No matter what this year has held for you, His coming is a promise that redemption, light, and restoration are always at work. 🙏✨

2.) Thank you for the overwhelming response to The Salt & Light Reader’s Society and Tea in the Shire! We have over 70 of you participating in reading Lord of the Rings together and I cannot believe it! 😭 I’m SOOO excited. I can already tell how special this community is! 🥹
