This is the official channel of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council.
During World War II, in 1945, the United States detonated an atomic bomb over Nagasaki City following Hiroshima. The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council was formed in 1956 by survivors.
In 2024, the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations (Nihon Hidankyo) was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its grassroots movement demonstrating that nuclear weapons must never be used again. The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council is one of the survivors' organizations that make up Nihon Hidankyo.
We continue our efforts to urge all countries to join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, the first treaty to fully ban nuclear weapons.
