Today, 31st December 2025 , as the year closes, a waxing gibbous Moon, glowing at nearly full, drifts beside the #Pleiades, the #Seven_Sisters forming a bright, gentle pairing.

This star cluster has been watched, named, and mythologized by humans for thousands of years, and on the final night of 2025, the Moon pauses beside it.

You don’t need a telescope. Just clear skies and a few minutes after sunset. Binoculars will reveal the cluster’s hazy glow, but even the naked eye should be enough to take it in.

#Best viewing times, one to three hours after local sunset, looking east to southeast:

• Pacific Time (US West Coast): 5–7 PM PST
• Eastern Time (US East Coast): 6–8 PM EST
• GMT (United Kingdom): 4–7 PM GMT
• Japan (JST): 9–11 PM JST
• Philippines (PHT): 8–11 PM PHT
• UTC reference: approximately 18:00–22:00 UTC

No fireworks required. Just the Moon, the Seven Sisters, and the last night of the year sharing the same patch of sky.
