Every evening I walk over to the barn once the team is done working over there for the day. I normally cross paths with quite a few of our rescues along the way. Here's an update on Georgie for your morning ☀️ She was auctioned off and bought by someone intending to slaughter her. We raised the money and saved her! Now we're focused on helping her settle in here, get to know us, and learn to trust us. It's amazing to see how interacting with children impacts shy horses. Shep has helped her completely overcome her shyness ♥️

Today, I stood in a place where lives were treated like commodities.

I've received many private messages about this little guy, and I know everyone is very worried about Donker. But right now, we need to focus on saving the two lives in the most critical situation.

Currently, we are short $4,877 to complete the rescue of two puppies:

– One agile puppy is waiting to be taken to safety.

– One grey female puppy has just received temporary care, but still doesn't have a real home.

If we don't reach this goal, they may lose their chance to live safely.

I tried to approach this scrawny horse to see if it would be tame. It was very shy, but very docile. When I reached out my hand, it recoiled slightly, its deep eyes gleaming with fear… but then it stood still, as if too tired to run away again.

Its coat was scraggly, its bones clearly visible beneath its thin skin. Each step was a struggle. I don't know what it had endured – days of hunger and thirst, beatings, or cold, lonely nights. But I know one thing: it deserved to live, to be loved, to run in the meadows instead of waiting for a heartbreaking end.
When the transport stable arrived, my heart ached. This might be its last chance. If no one reached out to help today, tomorrow might be too late.
It didn't resist as we gently led it into the stable. It just walked silently, heartbreakingly docile. Perhaps deep within it still glimmers of hope – hope that this time, the door closing won't lead it to darkness, but to a new life.

We are calling on the community to join hands to rescue and care for this horse. The costs of transportation, veterinary care, food, and safe shelter are a long and expensive journey. But with just a small contribution from each person, we can rewrite the fate of this little creature.
