Anduril Industries sanctioned by China as tensions over Taiwan escalate
Beijing has imposed sweeping sanctions on 20 US defence-linked companies and 10 senior executives, with Palmer Luckey, founder of Anduril Industries, among those directly targeted.
The move comes just days after Washington announced a major arms package for Taiwan, valued at more than US$10 billion, a deal that if approved by Congress, would mark the largest US weapons sale to the island to date.
According to China’s foreign ministry, the sanctions include:
• Freezing company and personal assets held in China
• Banning sanctioned individuals from entering the country
• Prohibiting Chinese organisations and individuals from doing business with them
Alongside Anduril, major US defence players including Northrop Grumman, L3Harris, and Boeing were also named.
China claims Taiwan as its own territory and has described the arms sales as a direct violation of its “core interests”, warning that any company or individual involved in arming Taiwan will pay the price. The Chinese military has simultaneously ramped up near-daily air and naval operations around the island, intensifying fears of a future conflict.

Anduril is widely regarded as one of America’s most technically advanced defence startups, built around artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and rapid mass production of military hardware.
