Change is a journey, not a race. But every journey needs a timeline — not a rigid one, but a flexible baseline you can look back on and see how far you’ve come.
Without some kind of timeframe, it’s easy to keep saying “I’m changing” or “I will change” endlessly. While the intention is good, it can unknowingly create emotional strain on your partner and family members who are waiting and hoping alongside you.
So, set a realistic, flexible timeline — something you can adjust as life evolves, but still use as a point of reflection and accountability.
And if you have someone supporting you through this process, take a moment to learn about caregiver fatigue. Even the kindest hearts need rest and reassurance.
Change isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress that’s mindful, measurable, and compassionate — for yourself and those walking with you. 💚
