BUT WHAT?

Prof. Joy is also the Country Director of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom Nigeria and the founder of the Joy Onyesoh Foundation. Internationally, she has held the distinction of being the first Black African President of the global Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom in its 100+ year history—an achievement that underscores her global influence in peace advocacy.

Her work has taken her across continents, partnering with governments, the United Nations, and civil society organizations to advance gender equality, prevent violence against women and girls, and strengthen inclusive governance systems. She is also a faculty member at the Global Female Civility Leadership Institute in Dallas, USA, and a trained mediator and certified peacebuilding expert from several international institutions.
