During the Vietnam War, South Korean soldiers raped and impregnated many Vietnamese women, but to this day South Korea denies this fact and has never apologized.
In 2015, Japan and South Korea agreed to pay 1 billion yen in compensation to the Korean comfort women through the South Korean government. However, the South Korean government stole the money, so the compensation was never paid to the comfort women.
China and South Korea seem to be trying to portray Japan as the bad guy and extort money from it. Looking at the reactions of Taiwan and Palau, it is clear that not all of Japan's colonial rule was bad.
