Seeking the Truth: When the CCP Covers the Sky with One Hand Yu Menglong: From Lone Dreamer to a Sun That Warms Others
On June 15, 1988, Yu Menglong was born in Jiangsu. His parents answered the government’s call to support Xinjiang. Soon after, his father left, and it was his mother, working odd jobs, who raised him through the struggles of early life.
In 2013, at the age of twenty-five, Yu moved to Beijing in search of opportunity. Like many young dreamers in the capital, he found himself swallowed by the city’s vast crowds. His home was a damp, underground basement, where rainwater would seep inside during the wet season, leaving his bed constantly soaked. To cut expenses, he lived with extreme thrift. He wore a down jacket worth just over 400 yuan, sewing its torn cuffs himself; a 218-yuan cotton coat, washed until it turned pale, remained his “armor” through the winters; and a 70-yuan T-shirt was worn season after season.
A chance encounter later changed his path. Witnessing the longing eyes of children in remote mountain areas—hungry for knowledge but starved of resources—he made a decisive choice. Yu left the job that barely sustained his livelihood and devoted himself to volunteer teaching. The region was isolated, with treacherous mountain roads and living conditions harsher than most could imagine. Yet he stayed for three years, offering his time, energy, and limited strength to hold up a sky of hope for the children.
Yu’s compassion did not end there. When a fan was diagnosed with leukemia and issued a desperate plea for help, Yu immediately donated the 200,000 yuan he had painstakingly saved over the years. In 2021, during the devastating floods in Henan, he contributed another 500,000 yuan to relief efforts. After the donations, his bank account held only 387 yuan. He simply smiled.
In the midst of a noisy, competitive world, Yu Menglong has chosen another path. He is often described as a pearl covered in dust—quiet, unassuming, yet radiating his own light. From a lone star chasing dreams in the cold night, he has become a source of warmth for others.
Before arriving at the hospital, 🐟 was already deceased. At 2:48 a.m., resuscitation efforts were attempted, but he had already passed away. At 3:12 a.m., surveillance footage shows a man in white rifling through the belongings on 🐟’s body. Shortly afterward, a woman, appearing flustered, removed a plastic bottle from the scene.
According to the attending physician, needle puncture marks were found on 🐟’s chest, and tests revealed that his body had been injected with a substance containing tetrodotoxin, a potent pufferfish neurotoxin. In addition, his left hand showed scald injuries from hot water, and ligature marks were visible on both wrists. However, part of the hospital’s surveillance footage has reportedly been destroyed.
