James is a singing teacher and regularly performs across the UK with his Primary School Assembly Bangers Live show. Festival appearances include Glastonbury, Latitude and Edinburgh Fringe. He has appeared on BBC The One Show, BBC Breakfast, BBC Scotland, Loose Women (ITV), CBBC Newsround and Vanessa Feltz show (TalkTV). He featured live on Jeremy Vine’s BBC Radio 2 show and ITV’s This Morning. His online videos have been written about in The Times, The Independent and Buzzfeed. This is nuts. Unbelievably, we’ve brought the assembly hall to The Times newspaper!! I’m incredibly thrilled to say that the “big Friday night clubbing to assembly hymns” is the lead feature in today’s Times Culture section.
I’m very pleased to get shout outs to Shaggy, Home and Away and shouting the word NAKED into a respectable national newspaper 🙂↕️ I’m not allowed to share the full article as there’s a paywall but you can find the link via my Linktree in bio so you can hopefully access the online paper.
Honestly very surreal to see my face in the paper my parents got every day growing up and extremely grateful for the lovely write up! 🤯

A fun few days at the Fringe! I was filming with @bbcscotland yesterday for their show Edinburgh Unlocked, hosted by @marknelsoncomic. Later in the afternoon I featured on @capitalscotland , singing some Scottish school song requests with @katyjjo by Singing Kettle! It was a wonderful sold out show today and even had a few men coming up to me at the end saying that they cried with the nostalgic emotions 🥹 true masculinity, embracing those emotions! Only one more week to go in Edinburgh and it’s been a blast. Thanks again to anyone that has bought a ticket and come to see the show @gildedballoon

It has been incredible to go round England and Wales with this show so far this year. Now we have an updated list of all upcoming dates that are on sale for 2024. Plus one in 2025(!) One HUGE highlight of the year will be a mighty 18 show run at the Edinburgh Fringe @GildedBalloon Auditorium. This will be my first show in Scotland and the first time ever taking a show to the Fringe. Slightly terrifying, doing my first show in a 210 capacity venue but for those of you that come along, it’ll be the perfect way to kick start your day with an hour of singing, comedy and 90s nostalgia. For anyone based in Northern Ireland, I’m still working on it…watch this space for Christmas 😄

I will be performing a limited run from 31st July-17th August @GildedBalloon Museum Auditorium at 1145am-1245pm every day. An ideal way to get the day going with a lunchtime singalong. Absolutely cannot wait to finally come up to Scotland and perform at such an iconic festival. A few comments from the past couple of days 🥹 a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone that has come along to a show so far. This is what it’s all about, getting together in a room, singing away, having a laugh and lifting the spirits in a world of gloomy news. What’s also amazing is how so many of us had the same childhood!! Can’t wait for the next shows with a bag of space raiders in one hand and a bottle of Panda Pop in the other… 👏

Such a lovely write up by Pete from @outofthearkmusic about my show in Camden at the end of last year. I love how varied the venues have been, transforming them to a school assembly hall with a room full of people singing away!
