¡Bienvenidos al Marniverse! Quiero presentarme: soy Marnie Gellhorn.

Durante más de dos décadas fui corresponsal en el extranjero, muchas veces acompañando a las Fuerzas Armadas de Estados Unidos. Fue una vida increíble y emocionante… pero algún día una tiene que volver a casa. O eso pensaba.

Cuando regresé, me di cuenta de que ya no estaba del todo segura de dónde estaba mi hogar. Terminé cubriendo un par de juicios penales de alto perfil en Memphis, Tennessee, hasta que recibí una invitación bastante intrigante para cubrir una historia nueva e interesante en la cárcel de La Picota, en Bogotá, Colombia.

Nunca volví a irme.

Y ahora llamo hogar a una cabaña de madera en las montañas de los Andes, y no podría estar más agradecida.

Sigo escribiendo, porque los escritores siempre van a escribir, pero los temas han cambiado. Ahora me concentro en la historia, la cultura y la política de Colombia.

También empecé a componer canciones…

Y me gustaría llevarlos conmigo en este viaje.

La autora y periodista retirada Marnie Gellhorn presenta contenido original y único de varias de sus obras y de su editorial, A L Press. Esto incluye canciones —especialmente canciones sobre la historia, la cultura y la geografía de Colombia—.

Tengo una fascinación particular por Tomás Cipriano de Mosquera y por otras figuras históricas colombianas, como Francisco de Paula Santander, Sixta Pontón y las hermanas Ibáñez. Por eso, ellos tienen su propio podcast, llamado “For the Love of Tomás”, escrito desde la perspectiva de dos de mis protagonistas más recientes: Christine y su profesor, el Dr. Franklin Boutin Soto.

Actualmente estoy trabajando en el nuevo libro sobre Christine y el profesor Boutin, y estudiando para el examen de ciudadanía.
