When ugliness is so loud and so close and seems to saturate everything and everyone around me, it can be difficult to see the beauty that is always everywhere and often even hidden within the ugliness. But, I must purpose my heart to forever seek it and find it and dwell on it only!
Enjoying watching the light change on the tree tops as the sun goes down and thankful to live in the beginning of the wilderness, awaiting the deep. I hope you are able to feel the wind, smell the leaves, and hear the forest symphony where you are. 💚
I never stop thinking about the current against my body, the smooth cold water on my skin, and the smell of sweet earth. I’m always only waiting for when I come back and fill up again so that I can do one more day with peace, and maybe, elegantly. #onemoreday#rivertherapy
Calm settles over me when I ease into the water. The sound comes first—the gentle rush weaving its way downstream, rolling over rocks, whispering against the banks. It isn’t loud or demanding, but steady, like a heartbeat that has been here long before me and will remain long after. Standing in the current, the rhythm joins with my body. My breath slows. My mind quiets.
The stream carries away more than fallen leaves. It takes with it tension, worries, and little burdens I’ve been holding. With every cooling ripple against my legs and belly, arms and hands, I feel lighter, cleansed. I’m reminded that life itself is always moving forward, flowing around obstacles, finding new paths without hesitation.
Bug and birdsong echo from the trees along the banks, and dragonflies dart through the sunlight. The air smells fresh—sometimes sweet with blossoms, sometimes sharp with the earthy scent of wet stones and moss. I close my eyes. Sound and scent are my meditation. Time stretches away, and the only thing left is the moment.
The tableau of sensation invites me into gratitude. There is no pressure to perform or produce, no competition, no distraction. It welcomes and soothes. I drift. I am home.
Peace isn’t something I have to chase; it’s here, flowing quietly all around me. I immerse.
Had a nice relaxing dip in the river before seeing Jaws at the drive-in. Some rain scooched us into the truck, which made watching the rest of the movie through raindrop covered windshield PERFECT! 💚

For now, I know that when I am wild, I am well.
