'Polux struggled to his hands and knees. He limped through the wreckage-strewn tuning floor, toward the still form of the warsmith, his friend.
‘Brother Dantioch’, he said. ‘Barabas!’ He cradled the warsmith in his arms, and hope bloomed in him. Dantioch lived, for the moment. The Iron Warrior’s mask lay on the floor, and so Polux looked upon a face he had never seen. Dantioch was older than he expected. Lines of pain were etched into his scarred face that nothing could erase.
His eyes opened. They moved sightlessly, blinded by the intense flare of the Pharos. ‘Alexis…?’ he whispered. ‘I am here, Barabas.’ The warsmith clutched at the arms encircling him. ‘I neve thought to call one such as you friend,’ he smiled.
‘You are my friend, Barabas, and my teacher’. ‘I am dying.’ ‘You will live!’ Polux said fiercely. Dantioch shook his head. Polux wished he had water to give him, anything. His croaking voice became insistent. ‘Listen to me. I saw such things in the light. This war is only the beginning…’ He swallowed, and his throat clicked painfully. ‘The beginning…of the end…’
Dantioch gasped and settled back, his strength finally leaving him. ‘But I am glad, Alexis. I am glad to have been. I am glad to have known you. It is something that friendship can exist at all in this universe of terror and betrayal’.
‘Quiet now. You must save your strength!’ Dantioch’s scarred mouth cracked into a smile. ‘I have no strength left. I have done my duty, and I am no longer ashamed.’ His back arched in pain, and he gasped. ‘All hail the Emperor of Mankind, still beloved by all. May His dream be saved, even if we cannot.’ A long rattling breath escaped him, and his face stilled. Dantioch’s body went limp in Polux’s arms.
‘Barabas!’ cried Polux. ‘Barabas! Brother!’ He bent his head and wept for his enemy, his friend. Tenderly he crossed Dantioch’s arms upon his chest, as befit a champion of the Legions who had fallen in service to the Imperium. The warriors of Ultramar would find Polux there, hours later, his head still bowed in mourning.
Several hours later after being found by Guilliman and the Ultramarines… Suzerein guard came to him carrying a bier. They made to raise Dantioch up, but Polux stopped them. ‘No,’ said Polux softly but dangerously. ‘None shall touch him. I will carry him, for he was my brother’.
'On your knees, caught in the torrent of your father’s flame, you look up at Him. You see it now, at last, perhaps as He has always seen it. A simple truth. A secret that should have been kept, despite everything. Some truths are too dangerous to know, or too lethal to hear.
That’s why He kept it for thirty thousand years. Now you know it too. You see, through insurmountable pain, everything… everything that has been ruined, and everything that has been betrayed. You cannot ask Him for forgiveness. You don’t dare, and you can’t speak anyway. But He can see it in your eyes. You were too weak to resist them then, and you will be too weak in another moment when they relent and replenish you with their abominable gifts.
Your eyes beg Him for mercy. A son to his father. End this. End it now, if you can. If that is even possible. End it before it is too late. If you can’t do it, no one can. The burning stops. The psychic beam abates. You sway, gasping. Your father has a knife. An old stone thing. What is it? It’s so small in His hand, so ugly. That won’t do it. That won’t be enough. He seems to hesitate, reluctant.
You clench, in sudden spasm and convulsion, and cry out. The power is returning. It is flowing back into you with great rapidity, as though the Old Four are suddenly desperate to restore their gifts. What do they know? What have they seen that makes them act in such haste? Your father looks at the knife. +I wait for you and I forgive you.+ He drives it into your heart.'
‘The first step is the knowledge,' Said Pontius Glaw. 'An inquisitor must understand the basic traits of Chaos in order to fight it. In a few years, he knows more about the warp than most untutored cultists.'
'Then the second step: the moment he breaks the rules and allows some aspect of Chaos to survive or remain so that he can study it and learn from it. I wouldn’t even bother trying to deny that one, Eisenhorn. I’m right here, aren’t I?’
‘You are.' Said Eisenhorn. 'But understanding is essential. Even a puritan will tell you that! Without it, the Inquisition’s struggle is hopeless.’ ‘Don’t get me started on that,’ he chuckled. Then paused. ‘The third step… the third step is the line itself. When the inquisitor becomes a radical. When he chooses to use Chaos against Chaos. When he employs the agencies of the warp. When he asks the heretical for help.’
‘I see.’ Said Eisenhorn. ‘I’m sure you do. So… are you going to ask me to help you?’ Said Pontius Glaw.
Who is right? The Puritan or the Radical? Should all aspects of the Warp be rejected? Or can you use Chaos without succumbing to it's temptations?
The Cruellest and Most Bloody Regime Imaginable, The endless swarms of Tyranids, The Night Lords. What do you find most terrifying about the Warhammer Universe?
'Horus squeezes slowly. He is expecting some last word, some immortal and heroic declaration to mark the end of a majestic, noble life. It ought to be something good, something appropriate. But Sanguinius is no longer capable of speech. He is drowning in his own blood.
The claws close.... There is a double crack of spine and neck.'
Just came across this video by @DiscourseMinis which talks about My channel and MarkScan's false copyright claims that happened a few months ago. Unfortunately there are some details that are wrong in the video and I think it's best I clarify them.
1. In my interpretation, this video implies my videos/ Grimdark Narrators videos were taken down/ deleted off YouTube by GW. We both received 'Legal Copyright strikes' though MarkScan who uploaded GW books to the YouTube Copyright system and claimed they were the Legal owner.
2. We were both able to contest the copyright strikes, in my case I was defended by 'Fair-Use', putting the responsibility back onto MarkScan to prove they were the 'Legal Owner' or had the permission to enact on behalf of the Legal owners. Which they did not, proving their sole involvement.
3. To my knowledge Grimdark Narrator was not protected by 'Fair-Use', therefore this Channel received too many strikes and was lost. Even If the claims came from a fraudulent source, His reading directly of the 'Gotrex and Felix' novels was not defendable to YouTube itself.
4. I think this video implies that GW may be working with or is allowing MarkScan to do this on their behalf. This is false. As stated in the video, MarkScan have a pattern of pretending to strike on behalf of other companies. I believe this is their business model, They take materiel, upload it to YouTube's bad Copyright system, send out strikes and then beg the Legal owners to pay them to keep doing it. If nothing happens, they move to the next target. (I have had no strikes since winning my claims)
5. I can't speak to the 3D printing mentioned in this video. But though my correspondence with GW Legal, they did not seem to know who this company was and asked me for more details to research. Nor is there any public or private acknowledgement of a relationship between GW and MarkScan. The real problem is MarkScan and the YouTube copyright system.
6. GW is far from perfect, but in this case the one responsible is MarkScan. If people watch this video, they walk away with the Impression that GW is targeting me and Lore Channels. They are not in this case. I do not work with GW, I have not signed any NDA's with them. They may or may not be aware of me, but they certainly have not targeted me.
Some more research might be needed/ reaching out to those involved in these situations. Otherwise people will not have the full story and their anger is not directed and the correct target.
