Angélique Kidjo officially makes history as the first-ever Black African musician to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The legendary Beninese singer, songwriter, actress, and activist, with a career spanning more than four decades, became one of the most culturally significant and decorated African musicians in global history and received the 2,854th star.

The 66-year-old superstar was selected in the Recordings category alongside global icons like Miley Cyrus and Shaquille O'Neal.

Kidjo is also the most decorated African solo artist in Grammy Award history and has bagged historic awards such as:
2008: Best Contemporary World Music Album for Djin Djin
2015: Best World Music Album for Eve
2016: Best World Music Album for Sings
2020: Best World Music Album for Celia
2022: Best Global Music Album for Mother Nature

During the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold was spotted by her side.
