🐾 If you’re new here, hi 👋 I’m a big animal lover. I’m the kind of person who has to stop and pet every dog, horse, goat, donkey, cat or whatever I see.

This past week, I lost my little mini Aussie, Kodi. If you scroll back, you’ll see him, red tri with one white eye, super cute, and full of personality. He had the energy of three dogs, so life feels extra quiet without him.

Today was my first morning in 23 years with just one dog. Just Mogul and me.

We caught the sunrise on a quiet adventure together, and while the reason behind it was heartbreaking, it reminded me of something important....

Sometimes life hands us circumstances we don’t choose, but we do get to choose how we respond.
Nutrition is the same way.

The past week was messy, for my Kodi (the one that passed), emotionally for me and in my meals.

Nothing terrible, but not my best. And I can feel it. In my body, in my gut and in my left knee.... That’s the thing about health, it shows up in how we feel.

But here’s the key: it’s not about beating yourself up when you fall off track. It’s about how quickly you can get back on track and using food to fuel recovery so you bounce back sooner than later.

Today, I’m back on track. One step, one meal, one choice at a time.

Because mindset around nutrition is everything. 💚

How often do we catch ourselves finding justifications for eating foods we love but know aren’t doing us any favors? A busy day, a celebration, or even just the fact that it’s a Friday can feel like the perfect excuse.

But what if we flipped the script?

Instead of looking for reasons to eat poorly, let’s start looking for excuses to fuel our bodies with foods that truly serve us. Each meal is an opportunity to:

Feel stronger.

Boost our energy.

Support our health and wellbeing.

When you choose to eat well, you’re not just nourishing your body—you’re telling yourself you deserve to feel amazing. Let’s start making those choices together.

What’s your why for eating well today? Share it below—I’d love to hear!

Ever find yourself standing in front of the fridge wondering why you’re hungry? 🤔

Let’s break it down—physical vs. emotional hunger!

Physical hunger is like your body’s polite tap on the shoulder saying, “Hey, I need energy!” It sneaks up gradually, your stomach might rumble, and any balanced meal will hit the spot. 🍽️

Emotional hunger? That’s more like a sudden food craving takeover that pops up out of nowhere. It’s not about fuel—it’s about needing comfort, stress relief, or a quick pick-me-up after a long day. Cue the snack attack. 🍫🍟

Knowing which one is talking can make all the difference when it comes to choosing how to respond! 💫 So, which one do you think is whispering to you right now? #MindfulEating #CravingControl

Say goodbye to the muffin top with these liver-loving foods! 🥬🍊💪

Did you know a healthy liver and gallbladder can supercharge your fat loss? Show them some love with:
🥗 Leafy greens (spinach, kale, Swiss chard)
🥦 Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower)
🍋 Citrus fruits (lemons, oranges, grapefruits)
✨ Turmeric
🧄 Garlic
🍏 Beets & apples

Even if they're not your favorite, the benefits to your body are incredible. Unless you have an allergy or another health reason to avoid a food, choose these foods for their health perks rather than taste alone. Your body will thank you!

Stay hydrated, limit the adult beverages, and ditch processed junk to keep those organs happy and watch the pounds melt away! 💦✨

Love your body by choosing healthier foods over the bad stuff. Your liver and gallbladder will thank you!

Ever heard of Napoleon Hill's "Three Feet from Gold"?

If not, you're missing out on a powerful lesson! It's like that moment when you're on the brink of a breakthrough but decide to call it quits too soon.

Ring a bell?

This is a common theme I uncover during my discovery sessions with prospective clients.

You start seeing progress in those initial weeks, then it's like hitting a roadblock.

Anyone else feel that frustration?

But here's the kicker: your body doesn't play by your rules, especially if you've been down the crash-dieting road before.

Sometimes, even with all the nutritional pieces in place, you need someone in your corner to keep you on track and prevent you from self-sabotage.

Trust me, just because you're not seeing instant changes doesn't mean they're not brewing beneath the surface.

Let's talk about Mary Beth. She'd veer off course before the results even had a chance to shine through. But with a little encouragement and guidance, she stuck with it, and boy, did she see the payoff!

So, if you're feeling disheartened or tempted to throw in the towel, remember: you're closer to your goals than you think.

Keep pushing, stay consistent, and watch those transformations unfold.

I have a quick question for you, are you a nighttime snacker? Or is the last thing you eat 2-3 hours before bedtime?

I'm going to be honest here.... I always want to eat something as I'm straightening up the kitchen right before bed. Always.

I've programmed myself to just make tea, which I never drink, but somehow the act of making it is just enough to stop me from reaching for a piece of fruit, a handful of nights, or a spoonful of peanut butter.

None of those late-night snacks are bad... but when it comes to losing fat, eating right before bed is a no/no.

Now on the other hand if you need to put weight on, eating before bed is a must!

When you snack at night, your body's metabolic rate tends to slow down. This is because your body's natural circadian rhythms are designed to prepare for rest and repair during nighttime hours.

Eating too close to bedtime can also affect your sleep quality. Poor sleep can, in turn, negatively impact your metabolism.

When you're sleep-deprived, your body's hunger hormones are thrown off balance, making you more likely to crave unhealthy snacks. This creates a cycle that can contribute to weight gain over time.

And if you'll recall from some previous emails the weight gain that comes from poor sleep is the stuff right around the waistline everyone wants to lose.

To promote a healthier metabolism and avoid nighttime snacking-related weight gain, consider these friendly tips:

🚨How to break a nighttime snacking habit:

Make sure you’re not hungry from undereating during the day. If you skipped a meal or did a hard workout, your body may be asking for more fuel. Undereating during the day is one of the biggest contributors to uncontrollable snacking at night.

If you are actually hungry, as in your stomach is growling and feels like it's digesting itself, eat a healthy meal. Ditch the idea of snacking altogether. Eat meals, not snacks.

If you’re not… try brewing yourself a calming cup of herbal tea. This can help you relax, and it feels like a treat.

Or brush your teeth. This can send a signal to your body that you’re done eating for the day.

Still not satisfied? Get to the root cause of your snack habit! Take inventory of how you feel. You may be snacking because you are bored… stressed… lonely… or sad. Sometimes simply acknowledging that it’s not really about the food can help.

Last but not least, go to bed early. A full night's sleep works wonders for fat loss on many levels.

If you're a late night snacker this is your sign to stop... unless you are trying to gain weight, there's just no need for it.

Make it a great day, and make choices you'll thank yourself for tomorrow!
