Today we proudly wave our tricolour and celebrate the freedom our freedom fighters gave us. But sometimes I ask myself—are we truly free?

When so many people still fear crime, when countless girls think twice before stepping out alone, when justice can feel slow, and when many still struggle with inequality and corruption, can we honestly say everyone experiences freedom equally?

Independence isn't just about breaking the chains of colonial rule. It's about creating a nation where every citizen feels safe, respected, heard, and has the opportunity to live with dignity.

I love my country, and that's exactly why I believe we should keep asking difficult questions and keep working toward a better India. Celebrating our nation and wanting it to improve can go hand in hand.
