The Colibris formed in Budapest in 2018, uniting Németh Sz. Máté (vocals, guitar), Bánáti Benedek (piano), Koncz Balázs (lead guitar), and Németh Kristóf (drums). Their early music carried a stripped-back, surf-inspired vintage charm, blending 60s guitar romance with a modern DIY ethos.

After their debut EP P.S., the band embraced ambient layers and synth textures to capture sunset-drenched melancholy. This evolution defined their 2022 viral single Ocean Blue, now with over 1.6 million YouTube views, and broadened their style into alternative rock, indie rock, indie pop, and pop rock with dreamy electronic touches.

Following four pop-leaning singles in 2022–2023, The Colibris entered an unannounced creative pause. In 2025, they return as a reimagined trio—mutually parting ways with drummer Németh Kristóf —and remain fully DIY, writing, recording, and producing every note themselves.
