I'm trying some new stuff. A lot of first went into this jewelry box. First, I've never made a jewelry box before. I used nothing but small scrap from when I made a few cutting boards. I tried a new way for the top of the box, a recessed top. I tried Splines, not as easy as some say. Did you know you should use less glue or you will regret is later? I flamed the purpleheart to bring out the purple, big mistake it got to dark. Over all I am over the moon about how it came out. It will be a birthday present for my Granddaughter. I hope she treasures it long after I am gone.

I posted a woodworking video and I don't mind telling you it's a personal favorite of mine. I'm not just saying that because it includes bourbon. The resurrecting rotted wood, the feel and sounds of the machines, the sawdust smell in my nostrils.....they all contribute to why this project is a favorite.
