🙏 To Derek & Pilar of @garagewineco for having my over to their home for dinner and a night of Carignan.

🇨🇱 They showed me several wines from @vignadores_de_carignan - a group dedicated to making wines from ancient vines in the Maule Valley.

🍇 These wines show a silky mouthfeel upfront with grainy tannins and all the sage and wildness I expect from the variety. You will see several of my favorites on YouTube soon.

🍷 I loved the entire Garage Wine Co portfolio including the Bagual Vineyard Lot 96 (my favorite red of the trip), the Renacido Vineyard Cab, and the Parcel Selection Semillon - which sees skin contact.

😎 It was a great ending to my week in Chile and I could have stayed all night.

🇭🇺 A country that I used to frequent and called home temporarily. A city that is one of my favorites in the world, and people that have a tough shell but eventually give way to amazing warmth & depth. It’s a country that also ended my writing career & opened the door to reinvent myself.

🍷 Hungary is a historic wine producing country that doesn’t get enough credit. Tokaji Aszú is one of my favorite wines in the world but there’s a lot more to the wines if you’re willing to be adventurous.

🇭🇺 meets 🇨🇳

😀 These seredpidous moments make travel special. I was invited to a special dinner pairing Sichuan cuisine with Tokaji. Two chefs from China were flown in by @wangmester

🍛 My mouth was on fire and my favorite pairings were the beef tripe with @dereszla_pinceszet Brut. The crown for me goes to the Mapo Tofu with @grandtokaj Szamorodni. The tofu was one of the BEST dishes I’ve had this year!
