Dr. Raul Garcia is the First Latin American to run for U.S. Senate from Washington state.
*He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese*
He has served on the front lines of Emergency Medicine for the last 25 years. In addition to Emergency Medicine, he has been a successful small business owner of his own medical practice, the founding Dean of two medical schools, and the Medical Director of two hospitals. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Astria Toppenish Hospital.
Raul is a very proud and committed father to his five children. He and his wonderful wife, Jessica, live in Yakima.

Today is a very heartfelt day for me. I was there, looking at the Inferno before my eyes, trying to help survivors who would not come.
It was a day that will always be remembered in infamy. A day we lost so many innocent lives. A day that United America as one.

Washington consistently ranks as one of the most expensive states to live. Washingtonians pay the third highest child care costs in the nation. We have the fourth most expensive groceries in the nation. We're burdened with the fifth highest home prices and rent in the nation.
Way too many people are barely getting by. We, our friends, our neighbors and our loved ones are struggling to afford even the basics. People are maxing out their credit cards, taking out of their retirement funds, and draining their savings just to keep themselves afloat.
We can't, we shouldn't, and we don't have to, go on like this.
As your next U.S. Senator I will work across party lines to stop the reckless federal spending that is contributing to inflation and burdening not just us, but future generations, with crippling national debt. The incumbent, Sen. Maria Cantwell, consistently votes in Washington D.C. for dangerously high spending — but she ignores the economic hardships of Washingtonians here at home.
It doesn't have to be this way. We CAN change the way we are governed. I am not a career politician, but an ER doctor who has served my community for 26 years. I will take the same approach to medicine — finding solutions, caring for everyone no matter who they are or where they come from — and bring it to the U.S. Senate where I will strive every day to serve you and your best interests. Together, we can get our state back on track and have hope for a better future!

The fentanyl crisis is hitting Washington state especially hard. We had the 3rd highest rise in teen fentanyl death rates from 2020-22, and the 4th highest rise overall in overdose/poisoning deaths from 2023-2024. Sen. Cantwell isn't doing enough to stop this tragedy.
My Americans Against Fentanyl Act will take swift, effective action to combat the fentanyl crisis on both the supply & demand sides: Mandatory felony charges for serious fentanyl dealers, and involuntary treatment & recovery programs to help addicts.
