On September 7th at 1:40 AM EST, I was playing VRChat in a public world when a user showed up with a completely nude avatar. There were kids in the lobby. I did what any responsible person should do—I reported it. I filled out the report, attached screenshots of the username and avatar, and kept quiet so there wouldn’t be any retaliation.
The next day, on September 8th at 1:32 PM, VRChat emailed me thanking me for helping keep the platform safe. Twenty minutes later, I got another email saying my account was suspended. The reason? “Inappropriate conduct – sexually explicit imagery.” My gallery was wiped, and my account was locked.
Let’s be clear: I didn’t make or use the explicit avatar. I reported it. I followed the rules exactly the way they tell us to. And for that, I was punished.
This is a massive problem. If VRChat is going to suspend the people who actually report predators, then how many more kids are being left unprotected? People will stop reporting if it means risking their own accounts. Predators win, and the community loses.
This needs to be public. VRChat has to be held accountable.
Some updates: 1, The VRchat player known as vaporwo1f has been banned 2, The VRchat player known as Peter Parker, Intel has informed me his mother will be turning all of his devices over to the police. 3, A new video will be coming soon, information keeps changing forcing me to change what I've worked on. This new video will also feature a new face that is involved
