Choosing Your Office / Production House Location – A Word to Fashion Designers

Many fashion designers believe that setting up shop near the expressway or in a well-developed area automatically means patronage from residents of that area. As a result, they often break the bank just to afford exorbitant rents in major cities.

Yes, major cities are great — but only move when you can comfortably afford it twice over.

Here’s the reality: once you move into those highbrow areas, you’ll often discover that many residents actually travel to rural or less popular areas to get their tailoring done.

Take for example a man I know who owns a house in Lekki, Lagos. His personal fashion designer lives in Ago Palace, Lagos. Some go even farther — to cities like Aba and Owerri — to find skilled tailors. It’s not that they can’t afford the ones nearby, but they’re cutting costs. Also, many know that the big fashion brands in major cities are often run by business owners who don't know how to sew themselves. (There’s a world of difference between a fashion entrepreneur who knows how to sew and one who doesn’t — but that’s a topic for another day.)

So, here’s the truth: you don’t need to relocate to a major city to land big clients. What you truly need is:

Exceptional sewing skills

A well-organized Facebook page or profile

A solid online presence

Regularly posted, well-detailed samples of your work

Be patient. Stay focused. If you stay consistent, city clients will start finding you, right where you are.

But — and this is important — this doesn’t mean you should stay glued to your comfort zone. The key message here is: don’t use your last card to pay rent near Aso Rock thinking the President or Ministers will suddenly become your clients. That’s almost impossible — mission dead on arrival.

THE PATIENT TAILOR - Client Hunt Method (By Mr. Redefined)

One of the powerful strategies I use to connect with high-paying clients and celebrities is simple — give first.

Instead of asking for patronage like many others, I offer a free outfit to them.
This act of giving sends a strong and rare signal — that you're here to serve, not just to collect.

I remember offering a free outfit to one of Nigeria’s football legends, Papilo himself.
When he responded, I was overjoyed.
We had a meeting, I took his measurements, and ended up gifting him two outfits!
Not long after, he placed an order for more.
That moment gave me an edge over other tailors who were simply waiting for him to notice them.

Since then, I’ve repeated this gesture — and believe me, it works.

I call this strategy THE PATIENT TAILOR - Client Hunt Method.
It’s about giving value first, building trust, and positioning yourself wisely.

Word of advice: Only use this method when you are confident you can overdeliver. Excellence is the key!

"Give value first. Deliver excellence. Let your work speak."

How to Use ChatGPT to Create an AI Model to Model Your Designer Outfits

Hey fam!

At Mr. Redefined Clothing, we’re always exploring new ways to push the boundaries of fashion, tech, and creativity—and today, we’re diving into something exciting:

Using AI (ChatGPT + Image Tools) to Model Our Designer Outfits!

Yes, you read that right. You can now visualize your fashion sketches, ideas, and outfit combinations with the help of AI tools like ChatGPT. Here's how we do it:

---

Step-by-Step Guide to Using ChatGPT for AI Outfit Modeling:

1. Describe Your Outfit in Detail
Write out a detailed description of your design—include fabric type, colors, style (e.g., senator wear, agbada, casual fit), accessories, and intended occasion (wedding, traditional, corporate, etc.).

Example:
"A white senator outfit with gold embroidery on the chest and sleeve cuffs, paired with black leather loafers and a red cap."

2. Ask ChatGPT to Generate an AI Model
Send that description to ChatGPT with a request like:
“Generate an image of a male model wearing this outfit with a confident runway pose and a plain white background.”

3. Upload a Reference (Optional)
Want the model to look more like you or your brand image? Upload a photo and ChatGPT can help generate a model that represents you in that outfit.

4. Get the Image and Share It!
Once the image is generated, you can post it on your page, include it in your portfolio, or use it to pitch a concept to clients—before you even cut the first fabric.

---

Why This Is a Game-Changer for Designers Like Us:

Faster Prototyping – Visualize ideas before sewing.

Client Approvals – Show clients a model wearing their outfit before production.

Content Creation – Create stunning visuals for social media, lookbooks, and campaigns.

Zero Waste – Save time, fabric, and effort.

---

We're building the future of fashion—where tech meets tradition—and we want YOU to be part of it.

Got a design idea you’d like to see modeled with AI? Drop it in the comments or DM us. Let’s bring your vision to life—digitally and physically.
