When I was 8 years old, my biological father kidnapped me. One night he called me and my brother into his room to rub his feet, we did. My father sent my brother to bed and made me stay. He made me rub his legs and directed me higher and higher up his legs until I was directed to touch him. I kept telling him that I needed to go to the bathroom and he kept saying I could in a little while. He picked me up and put me on his stomach and undressed my bottom half and told me this would hurt but it would be ok. I said again I need to go to the bathroom and he let me. I went in and sat on the sink, looked into the mirror and whispered “Jesus please help me”

I don’t know what I said to my father. I only remember standing in the bathroom doorway and seeing his face. He looked scared. He said “I’m not going to do it. Has anyone ever tried to touch you before?” I said no and he let me go to bed. He moved us out of that apartment that week and into a house somewhere else. After a week there I woke one morning to banging on the front door. I put my feet on the ground and my bars were sitting there packed.

My brother had found my mom’s phone number during the move. He was only 10, and called her to tell her where we were. Her and my stepdad were there. My father didn’t know what to do but let me go, my stepdad ( my dad) would have killed him where he stood if he tried to stop me. My brother was in my father’s custody so he couldn’t leave but he made sure that he got me out of there. I had it in my heart to call out to Jesus as a child and I don’t know if I was born with this faith or if it was set onto me that night with my father. I have the faith of a child to this day in Jesus Christ. He saved me and then my brother saved me. My brother didn’t get out until he was 15.

"On several occasions, after receiving Holy Communion I tasted blood in my mouth. I did not bite tongue or anything like that beforehand. This has happened three or so times over the years. Every time this has happened I receive a great peace and an increase in faith."
