Rising competition in the international markets due to globalization of the food supply chain system and a growing call for sustainability imperatives prompted an Australian food processing giant to modernize their compressed air system.
The 100-year-old Bathurst-based processing unit turned to ELGi for compressors to be used during their canning and processing cycles. Since the compressed air comes into direct contact with food, it had to meet the stringent quality standards for safety and compliance.
After a detailed evaluation, the company selected a combination of two ELGi OF 135V units equipped with Variable Frequency Drives and one OF 135 standard compressor. This was done to ensure that the system would effortlessly meet the compressed demands of the plant that could range from 15 m³/min to 50 m³/min.
