That's why I wanted to give a special shout-out to TheHylian!
The idea came to me a few years ago, but I just couldn't begin.
It seemed too intimidating.
Later, as I worked through drafts, I tied myself in knots over-explaining and trying to find the 'right' answers.
Until I realised that this video is not just about movies, not just about screenwriting, not just about me or my choices, or protecting my ego...it's a celebration of FFX - a game that's so important to me.
I didn't expect it to be a popular topic, but it was one I wanted to talk about. Writing started last summer (production took so long that I created and released a couple of other vids during that time).
Life events delayed publishing, but here we are, almost upon the channel's 5th anniversary.
In many ways, this video still carries that message from my very first video. Bringing it all full circle. If you watch it all the way through, I hope you find that too.

It's been a pleasure talking about Final Fantasy with you.
I've been flirting with the idea of making content beyond Final Fantasy.
For a long time, I've been happy with my videos just reaching a large % of current subscribers.
But this is not always attainable.
Each video often brings a loss of subscribers, with only the 'big' existing videos slowly recovering the damage. So, it's almost healthier to stop uploading. It's almost healthier to not write this post (but I couldn't resist).
So here's the main point I wanted to get across:
Thinking about the kind of FF vids I would make (and I have ideas), I cannot see much growth left as a dedicated FF channel.
1. My particular style is … an acquired taste for many
2. The kinds of things I'd talk about are probably too niche
3. I'm not great at (and have little interest in) putting myself out there. I just want to write.
And there's no real way of getting around that. My style is my style, and I can only write about topics that interest me.
While I haven't given this channel a proper 'full-time' go of things with consistent uploads, video making still takes up a lot of head space. I'm conscious that it has been a long time since I've worked on my own 'offline' projects.
That said, I would like to explore content beyond FF. Or at least give it a try. That means...other games, movies, TV...anything that interests me. Art that makes me feel something. Whether positive or negative.
I'll still do it my way. I won't chase trends.
And, most importantly, I'll still make FF content. It's just that I'll no longer rely on it. And the channel may look a little different one day soon.
So...my next video will be Final Fantasy. And probably my last as a dedicated channel. Please look for it later this month (hopefully).
