Overconsumption has become the norm of our life. And this is natural, because we live in a very commercialized world and space. It's hard to imagine. that we can watch something or go somewhere without a hellish dose of advertising. Why is it scary?
No, not because we spend a lot of money to buy all this, and not because we, sometimes. don't even use what. we bought. It's scary, because someday, only one type of thought can remain in our head - how else can I consume?
We spend a lot of our intellectual energy on decisions about consumption.
Don't get me wrong, it's natural to consume. We consume air, the light of the sun, food..but overconsumption is when we think too much about it, and in the end we can consume not so much physically and mentally.
Also, we often spend more energy on consumption than we get happiness from it.
A person can never be happy in the mode of overconsumption of things, information, emotions, and everyone has their own excess and norm, individually. Because we are all different, that's for sure.
But there is something that unites us - this is the essence of our existence. And it is to dedicate every second of our lives to God. And He loves when we serve each other. But please, please... let's not have images of so called or fake service , because that's not what I mean.
And what I have is to think about "how exactly can each of us engage in devoted service to God?". Because this topic worth eternity.
I invite you to watch the latest video essay on my YouTube channel, it is on this topic.
We are full of illusions about ourselves. Sometimes we are even afraid to admit to ourselves our true desires, fears, and disappointments.
This is understandable, because we are afraid of criticism, of losing the love of others, we are afraid that the real us will not be liked. But this fear should not stop us, because only when we are real we have a chance for true happiness and success.
Moreover, real progress in life is possible when we learn who we really are and are not afraid to be honest with ourselves. As a consequence with others.
Doesn't seem relevant? But any popular topic come out of this - self-love, confidence, self-worth, and ultimately our true success.
Let's place the accents. It is important to always remember that we are a conglomerate of soul, psyche, and body. And to be more precise, we are like an onion, the core is the soul, that is who we are, and the psyche and body are superimposed on top of us, and we should know, feel, and take care of all these. And if we forget any of these parts of ourselves we will suffer. Whether physically, mentally, or existentially...
Do you think this is true? How about your experience?
PS If everything +- is clear with physics and mentality, then with the soul there is still a lot to learn and it is through taking care of the soul that we will get the strength and intelligence to be our true, happy selves.
We all crave independence so much right now, but in this process we become dependent on unstable things.
We become independent from God, but dependent on money, work, stupid habits, trends, opinions of people we don't know, etc. And because of this, we feel more and more anxious in life.
True independence is dependence on our eternal best Friend - God. Because only in this relationships will we get a foundation that no one can ever undermine.
Sounds simple...but it's not easy or cheap.
This requires our efforts and choices every day. And this is the study and research of one's life, one's service and one's nature every day... every moment ideally.
"For one who sees Me everywhere and sees everything in Me, I am never lost, nor is he ever lost to Me." ( Bhagavad Gita As It Is, 6.30)
This Lord's message is for us. Something to think about and feel.
Self-care is determined by a conscious attitude to one's emotional, physical and psychological state. Caring for others will also be more productive on this basis.
This is a simple thing that is better to learn from childhood, but if you don't learn it then, it's never too late.
What are the self-care options? 1 monitor health; (this is incredibly new information, friends!) 2 communicate with people whom you are comfortable with, whom you feel as home; 3 engage in self-development and self-awareness in the direction that corresponds to our unique nature; 4 eat healthy, tasty food; 5 do sports, dancing, yoga (joint flexibility, dopamine, lymph circulation); 6 read what you want; 7 give gifts to yourself and others; 8 meditate every single day; 9 do some things that spark your creativity; 10 look for or do both - what you like and what is useful.
The list is actually endless!
What would you like to add to this list?
PS you probably already know all this, but often we need to remind ourselves again and again useful things, so that one day, when it will be extremely important, we will definitely not forget)
