My Nigerian Folktales

I love to watch cartoons a whole lot even as an adult. But then I realized that most of the folktales I heard growing up could also be documented and made into cartoons as well. And that's why I started creating these Folktales.

THANK GOD, WE MADE IT!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!🎉

We're grateful to God Almighty for the past year. Despite the hijack in August 2025, somehow we got it back and here we are in 2026. We move!

Definitely watch out for more uniquely interesting stories, and the continuation of The Brave Hunters series.

Here's wishing you all a healthy and prosperous new year. Stay blessed ✌🏾

My Nigerian Folktales

MNF OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Having been in this niche for over seven years now, I think I can authoritatively address certain things I see going on, and I think it’s high time I talked about it. To better understand my concern, you might have to watch one of my videos titled THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT My Nigerian Folktales or read the channel’s ABOUT section.

Recently, I saw a comment on my page that helped me to put this in perspective and gave courage to talk about the matter. I would have or should have talked about this earlier than this but my initial reaction to the lewd thumbnails and captions on the several ‘African Folktales’ channels was, “How’s it my business? After all, it’s the viewer’s decision to watch”. But then, seeing that these channels actually tag my channel’s name on their posted videos to get the attention of viewers to watch their videos makes it my business. Hence, I have decided to address this.

I could go on and on mentioning the captions of these disturbing sexual stories cloaked as folktales that have gained popularity thereby polluting young minds. Nevertheless, let me clearly state here that My Nigerian Folktales is a storytelling brand that is family oriented. This means that the contents of this channel are not restricted to be watched by only children, but adults as well as children watching together comfortably.

Therefore, I implore storytellers, who have branded themselves ‘African Folktales’, to stop misleading viewers by referring to explicit, damaging and dangerously vulgar stories as folktales. They are NOT folktales! A true folktale should inspire values, not violate innocence. Please! Our stories deserve better.

In view of all that I have mentioned above, I hope to see better and well put together stories going forward. Thank you.
