Growing fruit and vegetables has long been a passion and hobby of mine. I have been growing food in back gardens for 17 years in various conditions. I grow most every day vegetables grown in the UK and some that are not native such as chillis, peppers and ginger. Most years I manage to get a good harvest of potatoes, parsnips, carrots, brassicas, tomatoes, salad crops, garlic and many more crops too. Since moving to our current location we have a large garden, some of which we are turning into a 250m square vegetable plot. The aim is to become as self-sufficient as possible. This channel is about that self-sufficiency journey, so please watch the videos and follow along as we work towards the self-sufficiency goal. The channel includes many tips and advice for new vegetable growers and details of projects such as raised beds, making compost, water collection, sowing seeds, planting out and much more. Everything did great in the cold frame last night as it got down to 3c. This afternoon outside air temp is around 7c. Inside the frame it’s 9c. The soil 2” down is 4.5c.
