This channel was previously known as Trekking Exploration. The name has changed to better reflect the shared history, slower pace, and place-based storytelling that now defines the channel.

The water levels continue to fall at Ladybower Reservoir - more of the lost village of Derwent is beginning to reappear in 2026.
On this visit, I set out to see exactly which ruins are now visible.
It's always a fascinating glimpse into a landscape that disappeared beneath the water decades ago.

For around 700 years, this was the only way to cross the River Trent in Nottingham.
Today, it's just an old slipway beside the Ferry Boat Pub.
Most people walk straight past it without realising the incredible history beneath their feet.
For centuries, travellers, farmers, livestock and local families relied on a ferry here long before any bridge in the area was built.
In my latest video, I take a look at one of Nottinghamshire's longest-serving river crossings and explore what remains today.
