Okay so… y’all chose this one!

We’re diving into fluency, but in a way that actually makes sense for real people with real lives.

The new series is live now: Fluency, Reframed 💜

If fluency has ever felt like this vague finish line you’re “supposed” to reach someday, this series is going to help you reset how you see your progress.

Inside, we talk about:

• Why progress feels invisible
• How to notice what’s actually working
• How to stop overthinking every word you say
• How to build routines that feel like yours

✨This is your permission slip✨

The goal is to focus on MORE of what's working in your language studies and do more of that.

This means:

You don't HAVE to use flashcards.

You don't HAVE to take a class.

You don't Have to use an app.

You don't HAVE to speak from day one.

But instead, you GET to do any of those things, especially if you love it and it helps you to not just see progress, but get you closer to using the languages you're learning in your day-to-day life.

Who's ready for it? 😁

Do you plan your language studies in quarters? I asked this over on IG and was SHOCKED by the answer 😅

Someone recently asked a Q about how someone who knows 2 languages can understand it well but not know how to speak it themselves (this was specifically about someone who is bilingual, but I think this easily applies to my fellow polyglots and aspiring ones too).

...Which made me realize not many people know about this 😅:

⭐ Input vs output skills

⭐ Recognition vs Recall skills

Most people have tons of input (listening and reading) and can recognize things when they see it or hear it.

That can be learned and developed passively, so it's often easier to do a regular basis.

Output skills (speaking and writing) and improving recall skills is ACTIVE.

You have to use what you know on a regular basis, and sometimes finding the time, space, opportunity, and confidence to do so is tricky for my multilingual people 💜

👉🏾 So if you struggle with RECOGNITION, add more input!

👉🏾 If you struggle with RECALL, add more output!

Let me know if you want more tips on how to do this for your own studies~
