Just got an update from my local professionals and it seems that the capture card I use is now too old for Windows 11 operations system to function normally. Either getting a new capture card or reverting Windows 11 to Windows 10 should solve the issue. Given my window for reverting back to Windows 10 expires tomorrow, I chose the latter option. I will try to see if I can get PCSX2 to work for Windows 10 as I don't want to have you all wait any longer. I plan on getting a new gaming laptop in the future for Windows 11 sometime next year, and I'll have my current Laptop unable to use the internet before the extended security updates expire. Have a great life!
As of right now, PS2 console playthroughs of Drakan: The Ancient Gates will be put on hold (Aside what I recorded before Windows 11). The audio right now is glitchy and cuts out randomly very often. This is likely do to changing to Windows 11 and am trying to find a fix so that I can upload more tracks to you guys. I am not sure if it is RECentral 4 app or my capture card itself that's miscommunicating with my current opporating software. But I hope to have a fix since there maybe some things I'd like to test out both in emulation and console. I did test out with my second NA copy of D:TAG which is unscratched and same thing happens.
As Arokh once said, "Whatever dangers may come..." Well we will see what happens. Just got to be sure to uninstall Copilot and check if my computer for some reason downloaded Bitlocker. Oh, Can't forget to check on the main apps that I use to see if they're still there and function just fine. Those are the three major things I'm worried about.
You may already know or not know this, but I just recently learned that the Shadowmire constantly cycles between night and day. This is why some of us may have noticed that the Tree of Morning sometimes has a yellow filter and not, or that the skybox in the enter of the sky above is sometimes either gray or blue. I thought they were random-static occurrences but in actuality the sky transitions gradually between what is seems to be night an day. Both night and day last about 5 minutes before taking an almost 1 minute transition into the other. The more you know! Now back to Shadowmire ambience!
I am currently working on all the Shadowmire ambience and some combinations thereof that occur (there's quite a bit). However, I recently learned that the musical ambience that plays when you arrive down in the swamp is actually a FULL musical track that loops. I actually forgot that the level had music (mostly because when you save and load after the music has already started playing it's gone). However, though the music is already on Youtube, I personally found a way, in-game, to isolate the BGM from the rest of the ambience through glitches and now we can hear the BGM in in-game quality (which I will label as such). I will also be uploading a 1-hour version for Halloween purposes.
At some point I will likely upload 1-hour versions of a few of the ambient tracks (particularly non-glitch full ambient tracks) to YouTube in the future, but for right now expect 10+ minute tracks to be the norm going forth.
It's been a little while so I'd thought I'd give an update. I am currently working on acquiring a large sum of ambient tracks both glitched ambient tracks and normal tracks. This is all in regards to the "All Entry Points Lead to Ravenshold" video. Expect a full normal track of the Shadowmire, Kragmor, Inquisitor's Lair, Catacombs and the City of the Damned as well as the glitch tracks when you combine their location track with Surdana's townsquare (like Shadana). The aforementioned video is how I was able to aquire the ambience of the entrance to the Shadowmire without the water sound effects, so I hope to combine it with other sound effects in Surdana. However the possible combinations are limited not just by accessibility, but also an invisible Arokh's insistence on trying to find (and never will) a good landing spot. So bear with my absence a while longer.
Just finished the final edits to the last part of my attempt at a Rynn-only Playthrough and the video is in the process of encoding. It is just a little over 3 hours and 30 minutes long so it's going to take a while. You can expect it to be uploaded to YouTube later this evening or tomorrow morning (somewhere between 10:00pm-12:00am or 7:00-11:00am Eastern Time).
Just finished trimming down the final part to my Rynn-Only Playthrough. Just need to add captions for context, important points to be made, and the occasional snide remarks to my mistakes. 😋
Got my hardrive figured out. Was able to clear a lot of junk that left me over two days worth of recording time. So I am good to continue recording videos. 😁
Both my hardrive and external are filled to the brim. I might be able to get Part 4 out if there is enough space, but future videos will be put on hold until I get another external drive or upgrade my harddrive with one that has more space.
