Hey, I’m back!!

Thank you for being patient as I took an extended break from my channel, although I do have an announcement to make.

I think I’m going to be scaling back my channel efforts for the future, and there are two main reasons for this:

1. When I created my channel in 2019, it was because I wanted the music I enjoyed to be more accessible on YouTube. However nowadays, I feel like particularly Dancemania content is much easier to find, which is good, but it is affecting my motivation to continue uploads (especially after I finished archiving Hime Trance for the most part last year)
2. This channel is six years old and things have changed in my life since 2019. My typical upload style of daily three videos is just not feasible for me anymore, especially if I have to listen and type lyrics by ear (which takes a long time!)

Also I think I will be abandoning Community Post projects, like the weekly five as it’s very time consuming, and I felt there was not as much excitement around it last year as the year before. However, if you want my commentary on something specific from my collection let me know and I’ll be happy to make a post on it!

I DO NOT want to abandon my channel, but due to the reasons above, I think I am going to be uploading less frequently, and prioritizing music that isn’t already on YouTube for the future. I hope you all will understand as I move forward with this decision. I am very grateful for all the support I have received over my six year time on YouTube, and
I promise new uploads will be coming sometime soon!

Hey everyone,

I think I’m probably going to take another break from the channel for now. There’s nothing that I’m super motivated to upload right now, so I think I’m just going to focus on my personal life for the time being. I do hope to upload more House Revolution and SDF content in 2025 though so be on the lookout for that! 2024 (POWANKO’S PICKS) IS HERE

My annual playlist cataloguing my personal 2024 soundtrack is here! Overall I would say my best new addition to my collection in 2024 was That’s Eurobeat NOW Vol.5 due to it’s rarity but also the fact that it’s quickly become one of my favorite CDs of all time! 2024 had some ups and downs for me, but I’m looking forward to 2025! Hey everyone,

I wanted to apologize for the inconsistent uploads as of late, but these past two months or so, I’ve just had a few crazy unexpected things in my personal life pop up which affected my motivation a little. Everything is fine now, and I hope to start uploading more consistently again. HosTrance 2 is almost done, so feel free to drop suggestions in the comments of what you would like to see next!

RETURN FROM BREAK/MINI-COLLECTION UPDATE

Hi everyone! I’m officially back from my break! I plan to start uploading Dancemania Super Techno II videos as well as ホストラ 2 (HosTrance 2) soon, but probably on a weekly basis not daily.

I also thought you’d like to see a collection update, of some new items I have acquired since I last touched base. WEEKLY FIVE 2024: FINAL WEEK

Hello everyone, we’ve made it to the final week of the weekly five series for 2024! A bit bittersweet, but hopefully I’ll have time to do it again in 2025! I would also like to remind everyone that I will be taking a break from my channel in September, and that this upcoming week is the last week for uploads, my plan is to finish the ホストラ uploads, and I’ll make one last post before I go. Anyway, enjoy this selection I have prepared for the final weekly five of 2024

姫トラ2/Hime Trance 2 (Birthday 2018)

Hime Trance 2, is probably one of the most influential CDs in my life. The absence of a lot of Hime Trance content on YouTube is what got me to start collecting CDs in the first place! This CD is also probably my favorite in the Hime Trance series, as there are genuinely no bad songs on this CD. As you can tell by the date, this CD along with 姫トラ Tsukasa Mix are the oldest CDs in my collection, and I had them before I even started my YouTube! It’s great to reminisce about the fond memories I’ve had with this CD for so long!

SPEED SFX (August 2019)

SPEED SFX is a really solid SPEED CD and a great concept too! Happy Hardcore covers of popular movie themes! Honestly this could be a hot take, maybe not, but I wish that they had released a second SPEED SFX instead of SpeeDrive. There are some tracks on here that feel a bit bland (mainly from Speed Records) However, this CD is definitely an A-Tier SPEED release imo.

Dance Dance Revolution 4thMix (Original Soundtrack) (Christmas 2022)

DDR 4thMix is probably one of the Best DDR soundtracks out there. This was when the game was at its peak for me personally. There’s so many Dancemania classics on here paired with great KONAMI originals. Definitely a worthwhile listen if you love Dancemania, and DDR.

Super Eurobeat Vol.34 (December 2023)

Similar to last week you’ll know that I gave this Eurobeat CD a very high ranking in my tier list. I feel similar towards this CD, that I feel towards SEB Vol.23 in last week’s entry. It features a ton of classic songs that get featured over and over again on SEB anniversary mixes, and also features some great hidden gem type tracks as well. A fun fact about this release is that it was also the first to feature the Avex logo on the spine of the CD. Although I think 23 was a bit better for me personally, this is still a solid release worth a listen!

The Best Of World Trance FantasiA (1) (July 2020)

The first installment of Intercord’s iconic and popular Trance FantasiA series. This is a good release with a lot of interesting and fun trance tracks. Although I personally like the later two installments a lot better, than this one, I can still recognize it was revolutionary in the series at the time. A lot of the songs on this CD are fan favorites in the DDR/Dancemania Community, so if you haven’t listened to it yet, I would definitely give it a listen on YouTube. Overall, a good first entry in the series, that was later improved with future installations.

Dancemania 80’s (ONE) (August 2022)

I really like the artwork on this CD first of all, and secondly it’s a pretty solid selection of 80’s Pop tracks. Unfortunately due to copyright problems, I can’t upload videos from this series onto my channel, but at least I can showcase that I own the CD here. I kind of wish they had continued the sort of “vinyl” theme for the second installation, but this was also when the franchise was beginning its financial decline. Good CD overall

ZIPmania DX (ZIP-FM 10th Anniversary Special CD) (May 2020)

ZIPmania DX is probably my least favorite in the ZIPmania series, but I don’t really hold any animosity towards it, as it’s just because I like all the others better. It’s an anniversary mix, so expectedly it’s filled with the same overplayed tracks, which is fine, but it also doesn’t help that a lot of the songs are low energy and mellow. I will say that there is a nice spectrum of dance tracks from different eras on this CD however.

Maharaja Night Vol.10 Non-Stop Disco Mix Anniversary Edition (April 2022)

This release is held in high regard by me, because it’s the CD that got me into the Super Eurobeat series. It’s a pretty awesome physical item to own as you can see a gold slipcase (mine is heavily worn) and a booklet detailing the history of the series with some cool photos of the club! The release also comes with a T.Y.M. themed sticker sheet but I forgot to show it in the photo. Anyway the release is packed with high energy tracks, but I’m slightly disappointed they crammed it all on one disc instead making two separate ones for Eurobeat and Techno. Anyway it’s a small nitpick, and you should definitely give this a listen if you haven’t already.

Dancemania Hyper Pop Trance Best Trance Z (1) (Birthday 2021)

I think both of the Trance Z CDs are pretty awesome and highlight a lot of string trance tracks from the series. I have been a huge fan of this mix since I first heard it, and while I do think the beginning is a bit better than the end, it’s still an excellent trance mix that I highly recommend.

Super Eurobeat Vol.23 (September 2023)

If you saw my SEB Tierlist then you might’ve noticed I put this volume at a high “A”. This is honestly one of my favorite SEB compilations, and is exactly what I look for in a good volume. It features two huge songs that are constantly reappearing on anniversary mixes: “Heart Breaker”, and “Take A Look In My Heart”, it also features some semi-popular tracks from that era Ex. “Colour Of My Love”, “Turbo Lover”, and “Holiday”. Finally there are some great hidden gem type tracks on this CD namely “The Way To Heaven”, “Heart Beat”, and “Fight For Your Rights”. This is definitely top tier quality in my opinion when it comes to SEB compilations landing it’s rightful place in my ranking.

Hey everyone

Just wanted to put out one last reminder that on the weekend of the 17th/18th of August I want to post a a viewer’s recommendation of a weekly five post I still have not had any suggestions yet so please put in a request! If I don’t get any, I will just do random, but I was hoping to do something special for the last week of the summer!
