Hey all, apparently I can't add a single image here and a poll underneath so please take a second to head over to my Patreon to vote on a public post. I'd love to get your feedback on the initial concept for the 3d character I'm having commissioned for the channel.

I've been putting together a roadmap of sorts to help track what I'm already working on and have planned as well as opening up to suggestions of what people would like to see.

It may be a little difficult to leave comments there so feel free to take a browse and return here with anything you want to discuss.

Patreon Exclusive Video!!

Hey everyone, I made this one as a bit of fun, the usual content for the month is still in progress.

I know a lot of people who support me on Patreon don't frequent the site so may have missed my update there. If you already support me, be sure to go check out your link to access the new video here: www.patreon.com/posts/special-version-79633975?utm…

If you'd like to support the channel, and gain access to existing perks and some cool stuff I have planned and in the works, consider checking out my Patreon page for as little as $1.

Hey everyone.

If you've been following the community section for a while you may remember several months ago I shared a JustGiving page for a friend who was needing immediate treatment due to the return of a rare and aggressive form of cancer. That post is just below for reference.

To everyone who was able to make a pledge to that, however big or small, I know that a lot of you came through. I want to start with a huge thank you. The goal was smashed and Ellena was able to visit Germany for her first couple of rounds of treatment.

Last week I went to visit her in a hospice as she's unfortunately not taken well to the new type of treatment and has been left in tremendous pain. whilst waiting for her next round. This next round will hopefully be able to target a brain tumour without causing damage to surrounding tissue.

So I come to you with another request for help, this time to simply help boost her drive to continue the fight and provide the family with some much-needed moral support.

If you have the time to send a simple letter or card it'd be greatly appreciated. I'll attach some images to the post with the details.

It's an old Japanese belief that the folding of 1000 paper origami cranes will bring the chance for a single wish to come true and the family are already making their way through a mass of cranes.

Along with this, they're hoping to amass 1000 cards to boost morale and show support.

I appreciate that not everyone will believe in or subscribe to concepts like creating "positive morphic" fields, I'm one of those people. However, I still see the value in reminding Ellena that people are thinking of her and boosting her will to continue the fight.

Again, I just wanted to say I was overwhelmed with the response last time and grateful I have such a great community of subscribers. You're all amazing!!

I've had the pleasure this month of being sponsored by what seems to be a really cool company looking to change the way NPCs and AI characters are integrated into games.

If you're familiar with the channel and my work, you know I don't accept sponsored content on products if I don't see value in it. This one is definitely something to keep an eye on!!

You can find more details on ‪@inworldai‬ here: www.inworld.ai/

Hi everyone, I'm sorry for the long drought of content on the channel, things will be back on track soon with a ton of new content and topics I have planned.

I usually don't do things like this and it's certainly not what I'd ever planned to use this channel for, but more than ever I really hope you'll be willing to read to the end of this post.

For the TLDR: someone close to me has recently been diagnosed with a reappearance of a rare case of cancer. I say reappearance because she's been fighting this for over 10 years since the age of 10. And yes, without divulging too much information that means Ellena is at what should be the sweet end of her 20s and shouldn't be fighting this type of thing for the second time.

If you're able to donate even the smallest amount or wanted to know more you can check the Just Giving page here: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/for-ellena?utm_ter…

Even the smallest donation will mean the world. Seriously, £2 would prove to be mindblowing if enough people take the time to do so.
I've donated as much as I can but I've felt a little lost that I wasn't able to do more for someone so strong and courageous.
Then I remembered all of the amazing people I've had the pleasure to meet online over the years, now over 30k strong, you guys!!

In an attempt to give back as much as possible, I'd like to take any money I would have otherwise made from sales of my courses or marketplace assets for the next month and put that towards the fund. I'm making the offer time-sensitive to try and help boost the fund as quickly as possible.
Ellena is going in for her first treatment this coming Friday as time is truly of the essence here.

As there's no way to set up a link from donations directly to my content I'll be honouring any proof of donation at £50 or above with a full access key to an asset of your choice from my courses, or my Unreal Marketplace plugin.
So if you've been tempted to purchase my Endless Runner plugin or take my Udemy course anyway then now you can whilst seeing your money go to a good cause.

I'm not going to share links to the products in question, I honestly only mention them for those who were already genuinely aware of them and considering purchasing them anyway. This isn't a strange sales pitch and I want to offer the products as a thank you and incentive to support the fund.

This is really important for me to reiterate. It's not a funding page run directly for or by me.

I don't have a way to directly link donations to my products. Please do NOT buy my content from the Marketplace or Udemy. If you want to support the fund and get a little kickback from me, please keep proof of your donation (receipt/screenshot after checkout) and send me a message. I'll follow up with access to the item of your choice.

To make things a little easier for me to track, feel free to leave your own name, or annon/anonymous if you didn't want to be named but complete the name with D_E so I know that it's someone who has seen one of my posts.
So "Rob D_E" or "Annon D_E" would be ideal.

If you've made it this far, thank you so much for reading and if you're in a position to make a donation for as little as £2 that would be amazing. The process is as quick and easy as can really be asked for.

Thank you again for reading and huge thanks if you have or will be making a donation. You're all breathtaking!!

Hey everyone.

Anyone who keeps up to date with most of my content on the channel, specifically the misc playlist will likely be aware that I've recently been making content for Epic and their free Learning Portal.

What sort of content would people like to see up there in the future? Specifically using C++.

Considerations are that the topics would need to fit between 1-2 hours in length to meet their requirements and generally just one topic. So, "the generals of using C++" for example likely wouldn't get accepted.

Leave your suggestions in the comments below. I will be collating these and I'll likely host a poll in the near future after dropping them in categories to try to find the most popular topics.

And to save yourself time, please don't suggest GAS. Just getting GAS installed and ready to use would likely go past their maximum course duration and it's overkill for most projects.

Looking forward to hearing what you'd all be interested in learning.

So, the final video in the 2D game playlist is up!! You can find the final topic here: bit.ly/Ue4Paper2DInteractiveSpring

It's been fun going through a slightly more niche topic in Unreal. Although I've covered what I wanted in this simple 2D topic, I have plans for a much more in-depth look at a 2D platformer in the future.

I've also just released 2 Early Access insider posts over on Patreon. If you wanted to see what I've been up to or just to support the channel in general, consider supporting me over there for as little as $1 and get access to more posts just like these:
