Hi all, hope everyone is having a great week! 🍂 the fall weather has been amazing here and I'm soaking it all up.

I'm brainstorming some video ideas for the next few weeks and want your input!

On Thursday I attended Press Publish NYC, a one-day summit about the creator economy hosted by ‪@ColinandSamir‬ in Brooklyn. We spent the day learning about YouTube, hearing from some of the top creators on the platform, and networking in this gorgeous atrium space on top of the Refinery Hotel. 🏙️

No matter how many years I’ve been a creator, there’s always more to learn and I love being able to attend events like this in the city.

A few of my favorite takeaways from the day:

“Disappoint as many people as you need to so you don’t disappoint yourself." - Steven Bartlett

I loved that in addition to creators who are the faces of their own channels, I also met podcast studio managers, marketing leads, brand partnership coordinators, business managers, video producers, social media mangers and more of people who help successful YouTube channels thrive behind-the-scenes. 📸

Overall such an inspiring day! ✨

Just a girl and her camera documenting life in the city 📸✨ a few months ago I saw that ‪@ColinandSamir‬ were going to be hosting a one day summit for the creator economy NYC in September and I knew I had to apply.

Over 700 creators applied for the event and to be one of the creators in attendance definitely felt like being in “the room where it happens” (look, I know it’s been 10 years…but that was a necessary reference, okay??)

In addition to a full day of speakers, expert sessions and networking with some of the best creative people making YouTube content right now, we also kicked things off with a welcome party on the brand new Virgin Voyages Brilliant Lady ship the night before the summit 🚢

The party just so happened to fall on my 31st birthday—and yes, letting someone else decide my plans this year was the real gift if you ask me 🎁

We had perfect September weather, got to enjoy drinks and great conversations and we even saw Richard Branson himself hand-deliver champagne to our hosts! 🍾

I’m always grateful for opportunities to connect with people I admire IRL and it was truly a night to remember 💃🏻

Last week I was invited to YouTube shopping's Summer House event where I was able to learn more about YouTube's on-platform shopping features! 🛍️ 🛒

Not only that but I was able to meet some amazing fellow content creators, and even some of my own subscribers!! Ahh! That was the coolest part.

It was so nice to meet people IRL and get a chance to ask for feedback and exchange ideas. 💡 Here are some of the big takeaways from the day:

1. Repetition is key: spotlight your favorite products more than once so your audience can see what you truly love and use ♻️

2. Adding timestamps to your videos can help increase click-through rates on your products, so definitely utilize this feature on long-form to see more clicks! 🚨

3. Prepping and filming in advance of major sales or holidays can be great to give your audience guidance ahead of shopping days like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the Sephora Savings Event, Ulta 21 Days of Beauty and more 📅
