Max was rescued 8 days ago. I saw him on the streets and I don’t know but he followede me to our house. I don’t know how many months has he been on the road or when he was birthed into this world. When I brought him to our home, he was full of energy, always wanting to play around and would always wait on our doorstep. He ate a lot too. Fed him dogfood and he enjoyed it. He also drank water all the time (even emptied his bowl during lunch). We provided him a blanket he could sleep on at night to keep him warm. He would sometimes go to our neighbors door but would always come back whenever he hears our door being opened. Max was doing great until his sixth day. He suddenly did not want to eat and would just always be in his blanket, so I decided to take him to the vet. His cbc results showed low rbc, platelet, hgb, and hematocrit. He also has parasites and bacteria. He was also suspected of distemper. I bought him all his meds and medicated him at home. He was rapidly deteriorating, so we went to the vet again on the seventh day to have an IV dextrosed inserted. Then we went home again hoping all would be okay, but he was crying the whole night that night. I can tell he was in severe pain just watching how he breathes and how much he was crying. On his eighth day (today), I brought him again to the vet since I think he really is not getting better and so that I could confine him. On our way to the vet, Max stopped crying and realxed. He slept. And I thought, thank goodness he is not in pain anymore. A minute before arriving to the vet, he suddenly had a severe seizure. He was shaking, his limbs extended, and his teeth shook as well, then he relaxed again and stopped breathing. I ran inside the vet and told the guard this was an emergency, they immediately put Max into a high pressure oxygen. Then the hardest part came. Talking to the doctor about the options. Max was now in severe pain, and not responding. He went into shock. His organs were failing and his veins collapsing. He had distemper and the parasites and bacteria were everywhere in his body. He suddenly went to cardiac arrest, urinated, and pooped. An IV was inserted trying all the options but still, it came to one ending. I’m really sorry Max that I couldn’t rescue you any sooner. I really hope you were at your happiest when you came home with me. I love you so much and I hope you felt that this past 8 days. I hope you found your family in us. Thank you so much for allowing me to take care of you during your last days. Thank you Max.
Thank you also to those who donated and those people who prayed and supported him. I am very sorry to tell you this news but I can also assure you he was happy. I will be forever grateful for you help and love for this pure soul. He was still very young and I hope he is running free wherever he is now. Please rescue dogs, they need us.
As of this moment, Max is really weak. We have bought all his medications but we can’t orally give it to him since he still is not eating and drinking even if we are already force feeding him. We still need to raise $470 in order to confine him to the vet so that he could be given the best care. We are planning to confine him in Cebu Veterinary Doctors and they require a $100 downpayment before the dog can be confined. Please if you could help us save Max. And I would also like to thank all of those who donated.
