🚨 A court in Islamabad has sentenced lawyer Imaan Mazari and her husband, Advocate Hadi Ali Chattha, to 17 years in jail under various provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) in the controversial social media posts case against them.
According to a 22-page verdict, a copy of which is available with The Current, the couple was sentenced to:
👉 10 years in jail and Rs30 million fine each under Section 10 of PECA
👉 Five years in jail with a fine of Rs5 million each under Section 9 of PECA
👉 Two years in jail with a fine of Rs1 million each under Section 26-A of PECA
