Avoiding Babylon
Avoiding Babylon was started during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult and dark days, when most of us were isolated from family, friends, our parishes, and even the Sacraments themselves, this channel was started as a statement of standing against the tyrannical mandates that many of us were living under. Since those early days, this channel has morphed into an amazing community of friends…no…more than friends…Christian brothers and sisters…who have grown in joy and charity.
As we see it, our job here at Avoiding Babylon is to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. We seek true Catholic fraternity and eutrapelia with other Catholics who, like us, are doing their best to live out their vocation with the help of God’s Grace. Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world.

Finalizing the details on the Pilgrimage to Italy next year. We wanted to do something different than the typical route so we’re cutting out the Rupnik Art in San Giovanni Rotondo and heading down to Pompeii and Sorrento instead. Starting in Rome, heading down to Sorrento and the island of Capri, then back up to Assisi. We’re only filling 1 bus so spots are limited to around 35. We are trying to keep the price around $4k. Trip will be next December 1st - 10th. We haven’t even officially announced yet but if you’re interested shoot Anthony an email team@avoidingbabylon.com

In August 2024, Eastern Long Island experienced a historic flood. My little brother's home was at the epicenter of it. We’ve repaired as much as we could ourselves because insurance didn’t cover any of it. His oil burner was completely destroyed and is beyond repair. He got through last winter by using space heaters in every room, and he and his entire family have been going to my mother’s to shower for over a year. This stress of facing another winter like this has been crippling him with anxiety. I would love to be able to help him. If any of you can find it in your heart to donate, I’ll be eternally grateful. -Anthony
