クリスプ・ブレッドは北欧料理のひとつで、とても身体に良い食べ物です。現代では家庭やパン屋で紐に通して吊るすことはほとんどありませんが、伝統的には保存のためにそうしていました。特に夏の収穫後には大量に焼いてストックし、吊るすことで空気の通りが良くなり、虫がつきにくく、湿気も避けられます。しっかり乾燥させておくことで、長期間保存することができたのです。

　Crispbread is one of the traditional Nordic dishes, and it’s a very healthy food. These days, families and bakeries rarely string them up for storage, but traditionally that’s exactly what people used to do. Especially after the summer harvest, they would bake large batches and hang them up—this improved air circulation, kept insects away, and prevented moisture. By drying them thoroughly, they could be stored for a long time.
