Highly recommended for fans of Australian natural history.

A fellow independent filmmaker has just released a long-term passion project on the Paradise Riflebird — one of Australia’s most spectacular and elusive birds of paradise.

This documentary offers a rare, intimate look into its hidden rainforest life: dazzling courtship displays, territorial rivalries, survival in the canopy, and behaviours few people ever get to witness. It’s a patient, story-driven film that celebrates not just beauty, but evolution, endurance, and the drama of the natural world.

If you enjoy passionate independent storytelling, this is absolutely worth your time.

Hey everyone, I’d love to share something special with you. My friend Tom is a marine biologist and an aspiring filmmaker, and he’s just completed a fantastic 30-minute documentary on the wildlife that calls his home city of Brisbane, Australia, home.

It’s a beautifully made film — full of passion, knowledge, and a fresh perspective. By supporting some of the lesser-known filmmakers like Tom, we can encourage them to bring more beautiful content like this to the screen.

If you’ve got the time, I really encourage you to watch. If you enjoy his work like i do why not subscribe to his channel, and let him know what you think of his talents.

If you're into powerful wildlife storytelling and stunning underwater visuals, check out this short film by Beau Eastman.

It follows a female humpback whale off the Queensland coast as she's pursued by a group of males in a dramatic heat run—captured with rare GoPro footage straight from the whale's back. It's an incredible look at one of the ocean’s most intense migrations, and it also sheds light on a hidden threat facing these giants: entanglement in marine debris.

Beautifully produced and narrated—highly recommend.
