Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

Earlier this week, I found myself listening to an older meditation of mine—“You’re Okay and It’s All Good.”

Sometimes, I just need a voice to remind me that it’s going to be okay. Maybe we all do. Parts of that meditation still felt so soothing… landing just as deeply as they did when I first wrote it six years ago.

And then there were other pieces that, with time and growth, I felt ready to soften, shift, and reimagine.

And from that space, a new meditation was born: “It’s OK. You’re OK." It's available over ‪@MichellesMeditationSanctuary‬

This one feels like an exhale. A little less trying, a little more allowing. Still reassuring, still grounding—but with permission to soften into it, rather than reach for it.

I wonder how I’ll feel about this one six years from now. And in the meantime, I hope it helps soften your night… helping you feel safe, cherished, and reassured that it’s going to be okay.

It’s time to dream away.

Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

There are times that sensitivity and compassion can be a superpower— overthinking and over-feeling cone quite naturally do many of us. But then there’s a time where we deserve and need to be unbothered.

This week’s sleep meditation ‪@MichellesMeditationSanctuary‬ is crafted to help you learn the art form of being unbothered. I was awake in the middle of the night an this mantra came to me as my mind reviewed more mental content than any tired brain should ever have to. I simply said to myself, “I choose to be unbothered.”

It’s been helpful to say throughout the week. Like when my landlord ignored messages about my cracked window pane from the blizzard or I got into spat with a loved one. It feels so much easier to go through life taking action without being reactionary.

I hope this meditation helps anyone who yearns to dial down the noise and find serenity tonight. It’s time to dream away.

Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes today. It’s been a rough couple of weeks and I am so sorry for this week’s mishap with releases! There was some overlap as the Fall Back Asleep meditation didn’t come out until 4 AM EST! So I guess it may have really helped those of you who were up at that hour like me 😭

For March, every Thursday will have a bonus shorter sleep story! This is a month of reflection for me so I’m revisiting some old scripts and starting a new Sleepy Journal Series that will debut this Sunday. Think gathering at a lakeside cabin and listening to the inspiring moments of my own journey.

I wanted to create something that feels more personal as AI saturates this very intimate world of sleep stories and meditations that was initially started by creators like me who wanted to offer a sanctuary full of connection and empathy.
For those of you who wish to offer a birthday blessing—know that every time you comment and share you are helping keeping this sanctuary present amongst the slew of faceless channels. Thank you for being part of my journey and allowing me to be part of yours.

Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

Ever wake up in the middle of the night and just can’t get back to sleep?

Last night was… rough. 😅

Just as I was drifting off, a manhole fire outside my apartment caused full-on chaos on my block — sirens blaring, cars towed, cones everywhere, ConEd on the scene. Wide awake, I couldn’t open my window because of the smoke, and then noticed the batteries in my carbon monoxide alarm needed changing. So I did that, while Ike patrolled like a barking maniac — he’s already extra these days, thinking he has to take over where our cat once kept watch. By 4 AM, my apartment was over 80 degrees because, of course, steam pipes in a NYC apartment in winter. Finally, I cracked a window. It’s been a tough week, and last night definitely didn’t help my sleep deficit.

But here’s the thing: what does help is listening to a meditation to get back to sleep. That’s actually why I create a new “back to sleep” meditation every few months — for nights exactly like this, when your mind is spinning and your body just needs to rest.

If you’ve ever woken up in the middle of the night and struggled to drift off again, my latest meditation, Fall Back Asleep: The Moonlit Garden, is made for you. 🌙💤

Let yourself wander through a serene, moonlit sanctuary, where lavender fields, soft stone paths, and a gentle night breeze calm your mind and soothe your nervous system. Each moment of this guided meditation invites you to release tension, quiet racing thoughts, and return to deep, restorative sleep. Press play, breathe, and allow your body to melt into the silver light of the garden… your perfect nighttime escape. ✨💤

It's time to dream away.

Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

It's been quite a week over here. Many of you are aware I was dealing with some health issues with my sweet cat, Lowenstein. She had been doing so much better, but suddenly, in the aftermath of the blizzard in NYC, it was time for us to say goodbye. With a city on shutdown, it was an absolute blessing that I was able to help her find peace. The shock of it was a lot, and when I came home, I continued with my plans to record this week's sleep meditation, "The Clean Break."

As I've reflected on the past few days, I've been made to wonder how often we let go of things because we want to, versus how often we simply have to.

For some time, many of you have requested I create something to help heal from relationships that came to an end. This week's journey helps to cut the lingering cords that bind you, so you may draw back all that love and compassion and fill your own cup.

It's not unlike grief—having all this love with nowhere to go. As I recorded with Ike, my chihuahua, sleeping at my feet into the midnight hour, there was a very deep sense of peace I often feel in this sanctuary. I hope you feel the same when you listen. 💜

Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

There is a special kind of peace in returning to the places that ground us. No matter how busy the world gets, my heart always finds its way back to the Witches’ Cottage. 🕯️✨

This week’s story is inspired by that very feeling—the simple, quiet comfort of coming home as we explore the special bond between the three sisters and the beloved fox. When I first conjured this healing realm in the enchanted forest, I was spending time on a quiet island with my chihuahua who kept getting mistaken as a fox.

As another Valentine's Day has come and gone, I've released this week's story as a bookend to celebrate the kind of love we may find from an animal companion. It’s an invitation to step away from the noise and find a soft place to land. I hope that as you listen tonight, you find the same sense of sanctuary and warmth I always find in the witches' cottage.

Let’s settle in and find some quiet together. It's time to dream away.

🌙 Join me at the Cottage. We go live at 6 PM EST.

Tonight at 6:30 PM EST, we journey to a world where the Atlantic turns to lavender slush. I was so inspired by recent videos of Montauk’s frozen waves that I had to capture that magic for you in this week’s story, Snowy Seaside Cottage.

Ike and I even shared our own winter moment on the one warm day this week (a balmy 33F). We took a trek to the river to see the ice discs drifting down the Hudson during the golden hour. By Friday it was frigid again and the snow flurries danced around us, and despite the chill it was so beautiful. I hope tonight you are able to find the beauty in this wintry escape, as you snuggle in and slow down.

It’s time to dream away. 🐕❄️

Michelle's Sanctuary Stories for Sleep

Have you ever allowed your mind to wander to all the great things you’ve still yet to experience? From that unexpected connection with someone who becomes a dear friend? Or that book or song or movie that moves you like nothing else has? Or even that dream vacation, or that unexpected meal that offers a taste of the sublime?

This week’s meditation, “The Best Is Yet To Come,” came as a request and I thought it would be a way to elevate all of our hearts and minds during this time in history. The title alone already brings me back to teaching a room full of people how to make burrata as the snow falls outside and we are cozy and listening to Sinatra croon “The Best Is Yet To Come.” And even with that memory, I know there are so many great classes I’ve yet to teach and take myself.

Allow your mind to wander in the safety of your space tonight, as you cast visions into the night in the form of bubbles from a futuristic mountain sanctuary. It’s time to dream away.

All aboard the Midnight Train to Sapa... 🚂🌙✨

Tonight’s sleep journey is a very special one for me. Vietnam has a permanent piece of my heart—from its breathtaking emerald landscapes to the incredible kindness and warmth of the people I’ve met there. I never had a chance to visit Sapa and thought it would be a welcome escape from the deep freeze in NYC this week.

Step into the vibrant, late-night bustle of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. From there, you and a companion of your choice will board a timeless night train, leaving the city lights behind as we ascend into the "walking clouds" of the Sapa highlands.

Snuggle up in a rivate, teak-wood cabin, lulled by the rocking motion of the train as you pass through moonlit rice terraces and silver mountain mist. Settle into a night of quiet luxury and deep, restorative rest.

The Sapa Sleeper boards at 6:30 EST tonight! It's time to dream away.
