The Christmas trees are stacked along Broadway, with the healthiest and waxiest deep green needles I’ve ever seen perfuming the air. 🌲 Holiday music plays from tiny shacks made of wooden crates, and tiny reindeer 🦌, crafted from leftover branches and stumps, are sold. My pup, Ike, doesn’t know what to do now that his access to the curb is limited, but even he can’t help but stop and sniff at the new aromas. 🐾

And so the holiday season begins, and I hope that no matter what challenges present themselves, you can take a little time each night for yourself to reconnect with the spirit of magic and believing. ✨ For me, even as a creator, it gets harder each year to still conjure the younger part of me that was always so incredibly hopeful and assured that everything always works out. This time of year, I often find myself wondering about deeper meanings and how to celebrate the year as it closes. So much is condensed in this time, that it’s not always easy to step back and take a moment.

If, like me, you sometimes feel the world is too harsh, I invite you partake in setting aside time for softness.

Bedtime is a time that deserves softness and it can be hard to find it with a mind full of rigid thoughts. I wrote this to help soothe.
