Teaching strong men judo to become dangerous enough to trust their strength in combat

Joey GAINZalez

Most strong guys aren't dangerous.

They look the part. They lift heavy.

But put them in a real scrap and they freeze. I used to be one of them, changed, then fell back into bodybuilding only and neglecting judo for a time.

New video breaks down the BRUTAL difference between being strong and being dangerous — and what actually changed in me when I made the jump.👇

Most guys think you need a dojo to get dangerous.

(I mean you do, but mostly for real life application)

Too many grapplers underestimate the power of solo training

5 months of solo work proved them wrong.

It changed my life and various ways

EATING LIKE THIS IS HOLDING YOU BACK

The classic bodybuilding diet is decent, however there are some tweaks I personally

make to my diet as a nutritionist, judoka, bodybuilder myself.

**5 months into judo — I entered a tournament.**

No one told me to. I just knew I had to prove something to myself.

I walked out with a W.

The exact blueprint I used is in today's video. The 3-4-2 Method, solo training system, the most useful video you’ll watch this week

If you're a gym guy who knows you're built for more than just lifting — this one's for you.

I SUFFERED A BAD INJURY

The gym never once taught me what a torn shoulder did.

I TOUGHENED IT OUT AND I ENDED UP WINNING THAT FREAKING MATCH ANYWAYS

You can bench 315 and still get folded by a 150lb brown belt.

Gym confidence ≠ fight confidence. One is a costume. The other is a weapon.

As someone who has both, I share the pros of each (should probably talk about cons in the next video), my experiences, and why men need both.

Your 315lb bench press is USELESS in a real fight.

I know that's a hard pill to swallow, but I was that guy — all show and no go. I spent years playing soccer, but also in the gym building a "physique" only to realize I had zero capability when it actually mattered.

Lifting made me look strong. Judo made me DANGEROUS.

MOST MEN SKIP OVER THIS ADVANTAGE...

I spent years in the gym thinking I was a badass just because I looked the part. But the truth is, I was a statue.

Muscles are a great visual signal, and great confident boost at first but if you don't learn how to fight along with that at some point in your personal development journey, you are literally leaving so much leverage at the table.

You won't know how to use your weight when another man is actually trying to take your head off, your woman will feel that enhanced confidence off you, and most importantly security in you self in public.
