Story time: After I unknowingly bought my haunted house in 2022, I thought I was going nuts. Like legit crazy. I couldn’t make sense of what was happening and when I could not find answers through medicine, science or logic, like any rational adult, I took to YouTube.
I started watching paranormal shows, mainly by accident after watching one of Sam and Colby episodes, and things started to click. I wasn’t going crazy, nor was I losing my mind. I was experiencing something so many people experience but not everyone feels comfortable talking about: a haunting.
I was hooked. I knew very basic information about spirituality and spirits before 2022, and the more I watched the more I wanted to learn. I knew there were some shows that had to be exaggerated, of course, it’s YouTube, but I was fascinated.
One of the groups I stumbled upon through Sam and Colby was Haunted Nights with Steve and Dylan.
They were unlike many of the others:
No distracting music
No screams
No frills
Just two guys with basic equipment, sarcasm for comfort, and a good sense of humor. Some videos they’d have a lot of activity, and others very little. I appreciated how genuine they were, and how some nights were just not active. That is a fact! Spirits are NOT performing monkeys, and it was refreshing to see.
I began following them and have followed along on their journey ever since, never thinking I would ever have the pleasure of meeting them. When I signed up to go to the ESP weekend at the Crescent, I did not know they would be there. SURPRISE!! Being me I was nervous because I’m awkward and am just a girl from South Carolina who came into this community knowing absolutely nothing and it was a little intimidating to meet people who have been doing this for so long.
Let me just say, they are as genuine and funny as they are in their videos.
It truly was such a pleasure getting to hang out with them. The fact that I got to investigate the beautiful Crescent Hotel with them still blows my mind.
