@Bananabean-m6c please give me advice if I get the lore wrong but advice.. cut off the curse words if you wanna make it about God, I keep talking about it but seriously man. Not very skibdi. (I literally replaced my curse words with “what the booty” so I’m not a great person for replacement advice)
1: if you don’t wanna start chronologically first but want to get yourself interested before learning the details I would recommend exodus. It’s quick to share rather harsh details that are interesting and shares the love of God to his people.
2: Ruth is short and shares how God helped a faithful woman who devoted herself to family and the lord.
3 ester is about a woman who is strong and uses her faith to help her Jewish citzens, never mentioning God but it shows her devotion to her people.
4 Matthew gets to the point though he’s rather nerdy with his writings so sometimes people take a more theological perspective to it. He writes about the family lines of Jesus along with his miracles
5 psalms: helps you just go on with life in general and has advice for soooo many different things, David writes poems and his writings have helped me write more effectively with his emotions captured in his writings.
6 lamentations is a book about laments to God about Israel during exile, helping you to come to understand that silence of God is also an answer, to follow God continually and never give up.
And last… genesis: Genesis is about the creation of the world along with exciting stories about Noah and other people, it’s the most theologically exciting book in my opinion not because of its words but the things it doesn’t say, leading you to explore the scientific literature of the lord.
If you struggle with confession may you come loud and clear about your sins until you realize how big your God Jesus is, and how small your problems are… I know I have problems with that 🙄
I don’t deserve the life I live, I don’t deserve the bed I sleep in. I don’t deserve the heaven that God created. The exact message of the Bible sounds so harsh to people because it teaches them that their nature entirely is evil. We could spit on Jesus and mock him and kill him and yet we still want more than we deserve and claim we have done no wrong. “I am only human.”
That is the point, it is the very sin you can’t control that created you into who you are today and it shouldn’t be. God is so harsh because it wakes up the humans that actually yearn for his love and mercy, they don’t yearn for comfort or cupcake ideologies. You see people in China who are being killed for their faith and you see videos of them kissing their bibles and running up and memorizing the ENTIRE BOOK. Chiristans in Nigeria being brutally attacked and some not even attacked by others but by their very close circle abused. Doesn’t have to be for their faith and the same thing happens in locations like China, America, Nigeria. Name a location and there’s probably tons of information about abusiveness. Yet you still see them happy to pick up that word and read, you see them so proud and glad to be alive.
I have a woman in my church who has read the Bible multiple times back to back while I sit here struggling to read the entirety of numbers or Leviticus and yet Jesus is resting his hand against my head waiting for me to finish. It’s a grace I don’t deserve but will happily admit to die for it, if you would die for Jesus Christ would you live for him?
This is more preaching towards myself too because I speak so much of the things happening outside of America and the killings and it’s getting to close to America with al queida at our door. Yet I still struggle to do very basic things like getting upon my knees to God for confession or getting on my knees in general. In despite of all of that inner turmoil God is still saying he loves me and wants me to pull closer to him.
America has been so comfortable with death at our front doors, me, you and the people around us. I’m not saying be angry I’m saying be zealous for God.
The Bible confirms the trinity before the existence of Jesus, along with confirming the existence of Jesus in genesis through the translations of Adam and eves genogly which also proves the trinity. all I’m saying is… you got a bad case on your hands if your tryna use the Bible to disprove the Trinity
The Bible doesn’t use theology or words that conclude that our thoughts push us into the arms of God, in fact the opposite. They are the cause of your insecurity, but why? If God made us so perfect why do we still feel insecure?
These were the questions I asked at only 11 year olds, I found myself to be fat and disgusting. I thought my biology was deplorable and questioned if I was even a girl.
Later on I found comfortable in the Bible but a story. Ironically the very story that started this all, not Adam and Eve, the story of Satan. He was great in heaven, made to be the most beautiful in heaven, Gods favorite and he made music, tunes so good you couldn’t even dream of it. But… we lacked humility, he saw himself and because of his looks wanted to be like God. He got angels to join his crew and they tried to rebel but Micheal the arc angel pushed him away to protect the lord. The devil wasn’t even powerful enough to fight off one of his own people.
So why does this give me comfort? Jesus gives the church authority and the church.. is us, it’s not the building but it’s contents, we have the authority to rebuke Satan and remind him of the one he fears the most, God. It is the demons which creep upon your room at night that give you such anxiety and fear, fear from your own sin and fear of what might happen if you live to tell the tale of your faith. Fear from your own body and what might happen if you realize that you are actually an amazing creation of the lord. Rebuke him in the name of Jesus Christ over and over again, sit late at night with fasting and prayer and rebuke and he will answer your prayers, not maybe but will.
I generally find that I have no need for posting anymore but I still like writing these messages to whoever needs them. Read the Bible no matter if you believe in God, pray to God no matter if you believe in him and he will answer, that’s not a maybe or a probably but a will. Will it be today? I’m not sure, will it be within this month or year? I don’t know, it took me half of my life to get a response but when I did I haven’t felt the same. I fall down and get back up.
“Sometimes when we need hope we need our hopes to surpass the life we are living” - paraphrase of Philip the pastor
If you call upon the lord you will be saved, and you need to have hope, I struggle with hope and there are days where I’m faithful and days where I’m not but at the end of the day I know God is real and faithful. If I developed some illness I should have faith that I WILL be healed, or I will go home, ethierway I’m saved so I’m okay in the lords name. I love my Dad he’s so cool. 😎
1 verses on slavery: I often get asked if God supports slavery, while the answer is no I often times confuse myself with these verses since they seem brutal but the reality is… they are, that’s the point it’s a sharp call out of human error and God making us realize that in order for us to stop it we need to do drastic things, that’s not saying slavery is right that’s saying the exact opposite.
That it’s so wrong that human beings won’t listen enough to stop doing it so God needed to accommodate to us later on slavery is completely denounced with the exception of indentured servitude which is seen to be respectful to the master and yourself at all times, God even gives reason to the runaway slaves because of their environment.
Deuteronomy 23:15–16 “If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master. Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.”
2 how Catholics “see Mary”: I often see videos of people saying that they experienced the being of Mary, that she came to them in a dream or something similar. It’s not that I don’t believe them it’s that I don’t really understand it like.. at all. The Bible is against the idea that dead people can proactively speak to you, Jesus isn’t dead he rised from the dead and God isn’t dead. So the idea that Mary could speak to pretty much anybody is absurd in my mind though I don’t deny their experiences completely.

Things I’m confused about as a chiristan
