I’ve really been inspired by the love and support I’ve received since releasing I’m Back and I’m Worse - I truly feel less worse than ever. One thing I’ve wanted to do for all of you is explain exactly why I basically disappeared for 3 years, and also share some big news about what’s coming up next.

For my entire adult life, I struggled with depression, but starting in 2021, it got way worse. I was basically always tired, unmotivated and unable to feel joy or inspiration of any kind. My love for music disappeared. My brain’s ability to feel anything positive was just gone.

After trying seemingly every treatment under the sun, my psychiatrist told me that some of my symptoms sounded like sleep apnea, which is a condition where you stop breathing at night and it wrecks your sleep quality. I got a sleep test and it turned out he was right - my airway was constantly collapsing throughout the night and I wasn’t getting nearly enough restorative sleep.

I started using a CPAP machine, which can completely fix the issue for a lot of people, but for me, provided only a marginal benefit. Nonetheless, that small improvement, in conjunction with finding effective depression treatments, has given me the boost I needed to start making music again. I also gotta thank all of my family and friends for supporting and believing in me throughout all of this.

It’s still a challenge, but my love for music has returned.

So what’s next? MORE MUSIC! I’ve been making a ton of songs that I can’t wait to share with you. My next one comes out this Friday, July 11th.

The other big news is that I’ll be undergoing surgery to potentially cure my sleep apnea, and give myself a chance to have the energy, motivation and happiness that I was missing out on. It’s a pretty major surgery - my upper and lower jaws will be cut and repositioned to enlarge my airway. If you were wondering why I have braces, that’s why. I will physically look a little different (hopefully better!) and I won’t be fully healed for a year. The surgery will happen later this summer.
In the meantime, expect more music. See you on July 11th.

When Michael Jordan came out of his retirement in 2001 in order to help the Washington Wizards make the playoffs, he failed so spectacularly that people try to erase it from history. That's the level of being back and being worse that I'm trying to bring in 2025.
