The Purple Clock

When it was time to compete in finals at Carolina Clock ‘Stravaganza 2023, I heard them call seeds 10 and 9, then 8 and 7, and so on. Before I knew it, I was called to my station as seed 2. My first solve was a 5.22, my second was a 4.99, and my third was a 6.41.

Then came my fourth solve. I was using 7-Simul initially. I thought I heard a turn that wasn’t supposed to happen, so I switched to flip mid-solve. This resulted in an 11.19. I tried my best to shake off what happened. For my fifth solve, I got a 4.80! Next I heard, “That makes NJ our winner!” I was in shock and smiled ear-to-ear as the crowd applauded one of my proudest cubing achievements. I appreciate everyone for making this a special way to end 2023.
